Zakk's Coffeehouse (Murfreesboro, NC)

Zakk's has been the true home of original music in north eastern NC since 1995, and we have featured over 650 different bands over the years. We have reopened after being temporarily closed due to hurricane damage, and are up and running. Construction is beginning on our up and coming recording studio on the premises, as well as a tech shop. The shop will feature custom guitars, upgrades, set-ups, supplies and retail sales, as well as consignments of underground CDs and other media from underground artists.



We are also set up to do a live web casting of any event, should the band choose to do so. We also provide showcase opportunities via web cast for bands that would like to showcase live for any prospective business associates and labels. We have a very open booking policy but are sensitive to booking appropriate styles together; although we do believe in some variety in a line-up.



Anything with energy works here! Genres range from rock, metal, pop rock, funk rock, etc. Bands usually take 100% of the door. The split depends on who is on the bill, as we have some national touring acts coming through. Enquire at the time of booking for more payment information.



We’re in a small college town with Chowan University only 2 blocks away. We provide full sound and light production adequate for most any show that would fit in this size venue (about 200 people), as well as plenty of monitors and mains with a Yamaha digital mixer.



Bands such as Jimmie's Chicken Shack, Sinch, Socialburn, Pennyroyals, Agents of The Sun, Deceased, Pissing Razors, Burn The Priest, Sev, Dog Fashion Disco, Godhead, Nantucket, Step Kings, Plastique (Pete Bragg), Underfoot, Lake Trout, Willie & the Voodoos, Push Monkey, MOKE, Regatta 69, The Agents and many more. Bands typically play opening slots of 30 to 50 minutes and headliners may go as long as 2 hours. We always treat the bands with respect, and we pride ourselves on making sure everyone has a great time with fond memories of every show. At Zakk's, we're all about the live music!
