Summary

Zig-Zag® Live: Where fans experience the best new music and can support their local artists. A chance for you to earn a slot at this year’s CMJ Music Marathon – and much, much more!



Bands: Sign-up for your chance to earn a slot to play CMJ Music Marathon 2007 this Fall in New York City along with an ad in the CMJ Music Marathon Festival Guide, and an insert in CMJ Music Marathon registration bag. You will also be submitting for the chance to win some other great prizes.



Zig-Zag Live 2007 will be taking submissions for its three-round competition – Round 1 will be in March; Round 2 will be in April and Round 3 will be in May. In each round, nine artists will be selected to be polled by the public and one band will win in each round! Submissions will be taken exclusively through Sonicbids - so all 27 semi-finalist slots throughout the three rounds of voting (9 in each round) are reserved for Sonicbids artists. Submissions that do not qualify for the current round of the competition will be automatically re-entered and considered for the following rounds. SO THE EARLIER YOU ENTER, THE BETTER! Voting Details – Qualification Dates, Voting Periods and Prizes

To qualify for Round 1, artists must submit by February 9, 2007. Voting will run from March 1 – March 30, 2007 and winners will be announced by April 9. The Round 1 winning band will get a prize package valued at over $14,000 that includes: 1 banner ad in the CMJ email Blast every day for 1 week; 1 track on the CMJ NMM CD Compilation Series; 1 ¼ page ad in the corresponding CMJ NMM; 1 track posted at www.cmj.com “Download This” Section for 1 week.



To qualify Round 2, artists must submit by March 9, 2007. Voting will run from April 2 – April 30, 2007 and winners will be announced by May 7, 2007. The Round 2 winning band will get a prize package valued at over $15,000 that includes; Banner ad for 1 month on www.cmj.com; 1 Full Page ad in CMJ New Music Monthly; and 1 ¼ Page ad in CMJ New Music Report to run for 2 consecutive weeks in both the print and online editions.



To qualify for Round 3, artists must submit by April 9, 2007. Voting will run May 1 – May 31, 2007 and winners will be announced by June 4, 2007. The Round 3 winning band will get a prize package valued at over $15,000 that includes: 1 track on CMJ “On Air” CD Compilation Series; 4 ½ page ads in CMJ New Music Report, CMJ’s weekly magazine (ads must run 4 consecutive weeks, 2 ads will be in the print issues, 2 ads will run in online issues); 1 track posted at www.cmj.com “Download This” Section for 1 week.



Submissions that do not qualify for the current round of the competition will be automatically re-entered and considered for the following rounds.



Grand Prize: The three winning bands (one from each round of voting) will be considered by a panel of CMJ judges, and one Grand Prize winning band will be chosen for a slot at CMJ Music Marathon 2007 this fall in New York City. The winning band will also receive a ¼ page ad in the CMJ Music Marathon Festival Guide and an insert in the CMJ Music Marathon Registration bag! The winning band will be announced by July 16, 2007.

Please Note: Artist/band members must be citizens or legal residents of the U.S., who are 18 years of age or older as of 01/01/2007.



In order to be eligible, your Sonicbids EPK must be complete. Make sure your EPK includes your web site; number of band members and line-up (if applicable); a 200 word maximum bio (elevator pitch will be considered); three original songs (four (4) minutes in length or less) performed by you/your band; a color photo; the lyrics to each submitted song and an English-language translation of any song that is submitted in a language other than English. Song lyrics may not include profanities.



Winning bands from the Spring and Fall 2006 Zig Zag Live contests are not eligible.
