Zingg Music Lab: In-Store Music for Retail, Restaurants, Brands and Marketers

The deadline is approaching to submit to Zingg Music Lab, an independent music service which delivers hip and stylish mixes over the internet to retail, restaurants and office environments. They are currently looking for artists to feature on their genre-specific channels. Currently, approximately 40% of the music played by Zingg Music Lab is by independent or non-major label artists. If chosen, artists will be paid royalties through their PRO and/or SoundExchange, if applicable. Their current channel selections include music in the following genres: alternative rock, adult contemporary, classic rock, covers, contemporary soul/hiphop, neo-soul, pop, blues, country, dance, funk, traditional jazz, light jazz, reggae, world, and classical.



ZML's current client base includes retail stores, cafes, salons and offices. Beginning in 2010, ZML expanded its scope beyond the independent market and began working with chains. They are currently developing music channels for theme restaurants, national clothing retailers and a national cosmetics brand. By streaming music directly through a PC’s web-browser, ZML enables even the smallest store to access legal music without having to invest in expensive proprietary hardware. And by focusing on great music from talented artists, both established and up-and-coming, they keep retail locations vibrant and fresh.
