Bio

Since they formed in 2008, FORTHLIN ROAD has evolved from its basic roots of Celtic rock to a high energy fusion of celtic, rock, pop, punk and alternative bluegrass. They have a rousing, gutsy sound designed to entertain and engage their fans. Audience participation, dancing, foot-stomping, clapping and singing-along are typical events at the band’s shows.

Based in upstate NY, Forthlin Road is comprised of five friends, bonded together by the passion and love of the music they play. Whether it’s a Celtic original, a fierce version of an Irish traditional tune, or a magical twist to a familiar song, the audience is never disappointed.

Forthlin Road packs the big clubs in the Albany and Saratoga Springs area and play at the biggest and most popular Irish Festivals around, including Irish 2000 in Albany, the South Buffalo Irish Feis, and the Hunter Mountain Irish Fest. Don’t be mistaken, this is not a typical, folksy Irish band, Forthlin Road is loud, they’re proud and they bring an infectious dynamic that rocks the house. Their musical DNA includes hot mandolin, lead rock guitar, a piano/organ solo, a bit of blues harp, some acoustic guitar, solid bass riffs,a dynamic drummer, and awesome harmonies.

In a short time, Forthlin Road has developed a solid fan base in the Capital District, due to their enthusiasm, high-energy live stage shows, humor, and audience involvement.

In 2013, Forthlin Road released their CD The Color of Whiskey, available on iTunes, CD Baby, and other on-line music stores. They can also be heard on internet radio.
