Bio

A byproduct of frustration with a large sector of the music industry and a devout passion for writing music for over 12 years, GLLXY is a new take on musical storytelling, art, and human connection. With a musical background that includes self-taught instruments, symphonic band, and leading a marching band, it's no surprise that GLLXY draws inspiration from so many styles of music. However, the tenacity behind their productions is most prominently reflected by their love for emotional dance music, especially years of listening to trance and techno growing up.

"I vividly remember going through Napster with my dad when I was no older than five, listening to all these old-school trance tunes like 'Castles in the Sky'. My dad, uncle, and aunt all listened to dance music, and it was only a matter of time before my dad bought me my first DAW to start producing my own."

GLLXY began producing at the mere age of ten, and spent a considerable amount of time since then working to develop their sound and direction. Now, after years of practice and life experiences, GLLXY has the musical concepts and artistic ideas this music industry desperately needs. But it was ultimately the attendance of live shows from Porter Robinson, Madeon, and Elohim that sparked their newest vision for the future of dance music.

"I went to a couple live shows toward the end of 2016, and something in me completely changed. I was exposed to this artistic frontier unlike any other, and it gave me the clarity I needed. Essentially what I want to do is create a multimedia art collective. Kind of like Moving Castle or OWSLA, but more focused on charity work. I want to work with artists of all kinds, to create video games, clothing, paintings, poetry -- you name it -- then donate proceeds to charities that help those struggling with anxiety, depression, abuse, addiction, and other similar battles. I haven't seen any electronic artists doing exactly that, and I want to change that. And at some point once I have enough music ready, I'd like to create a unique live show experience of my own; combine live visuals and live instruments to create a truly ethereal and immersive approach to electronic music."

While GLLXY is a relatively new project, they don't plan on slowing down or setting their sights short. They have already received massive support from top industry pros like Gabriel & Dresden, Laura Brehm, Kill The Noise, and many more. They have also been frequently compared to Porter Robinson and Deadmau5, only further validation to the fact that they want to take the project to live performance. In a world of over-saturated “bangers” and lackluster artistic ideas, it’s time for the bubble to pop and advance to the next big thing. And the future for GLLXY is looking awfully bright, so be sure to keep an eye on them this year and the following years to come.
