Good Time Charley

Good Time Charley began in early 2012 when Melissa Butler and Barb Corley bonded over a night of fun and kazooing.  Melissa had just taken up the guitar, promising herself that someday she would play Stage 5 at the Walnut Valley Festival.  At the time, Barb was rather new to the ukulele, but always had a passion for music.  The two got together with Keys/Accordion player, Grant Buell to jam and see where things might go.
After a few months, upright bassist, Matt Cathlina and drummer Shawn "Klaus" Wright were added to the group to complete their sound and they played their first show with pals, The Kansas City Bear Fighters at Davey's Uptown Rambler's Club in May of 2012.  

The band's sound is hard to categorize, but is typically described as a menagerie of Folk, Americana, Bluegrass with a hint of Ragtime.  Many of their songs are written about actual events and characters with a story to tell.  Seeing them live is bound to elicit a jaunty, fun experience.  No doubt, a Good Time.  They're debut album will be released on March 3, 2015.
