"Toxic masculinity who? Hilary Roberts is back!"

Just in time for Valentine’s Day 2020, Hilary Roberts is back with an anthem all about praising the ‘Good Man’ in your life - toxic masculinity who?
Hilary Roberts is back with a bright and vivacious pop song designed to dust off the cobwebs of winter and get you ready for love this Valentine’s Day! But this is not your usual run-of-the-mill pop song, oh no - Hilary Roberts is calling for a reform in the ways we think about our relationships, and it’s up to us to carry on her message.
Forget the B-A-D-B-O-Y-S this years, ladies, it’s time to look for honesty, love and respect from the men we choose to let into our lives. Building on from her Billboard successes of the previous year, Hilary Roberts is branching out into the world of brass with a killer instrumentation on this new track. ‘Good Man’ features a well-placed horn section during its runtime, and, of course, Roberts’ killer vocals are totally on point, and really make the song.
We defy you not to sing and dance along to this latest release from the woman who brought us ‘Back to Life’, ‘Fight to the Other Side’ and ‘Christmas with You’ last year alone. She began competing in local talent competitions after she was inspired by a theatre visit to see Annie, aged ten, and has harboured a love of singing and performing ever since.
Listen to the track below and make sure you look out for the riotous music video, coming soon! - Voice Magazine

Bio

Hilary Roberts, also known as “The Red Songbird,” is a singer and songwriter who uses the darkness of her past to inspire others. Her goal with her music is to be a beacon of hope and empowerment to all.

Hilary Roberts is the singer/songwriter industry leaders have called, “the girl with the great look and killer voice.” As a vocalist, Roberts is precise and soulful, with touches of greats like Minnie Riperton and Karen Carpenter, but mixed with something altogether new. As a songwriter, Roberts has a dynamic range, working in multiple genres such as pop, jazz, blues, R&B, and gospel as well as writing all of her own music.

Hilary’s professional career began at the age of ten. Tragically, after a few years of songwriting and touring she lost her voice due to overuse. Doctors told her she would probably never sing again.

After 2 and a half years of speech therapy, vocal rest, and vocal retraining, Hilary was finally able to return to music. She immediately began performing again and went to work on her debut album, “Happy So Bad” with such talents as Dave Wilson (winner of BMI songwriting competition and VH1 songwriter competition) and Aaron Kelly (winner of VH1 songwriting competition), and Brian "Big Bass" Gardner (Grammy Award winning Mastering Engineer.)

Hilary is signed to her own label Red Songbird, and through it released her single "There for You". She collaborates closely with award-winning producers and songwriters, Damon Sharpe and Eric Sanicola, who have worked on a number of her tracks. Roberts returned for a second run on Dance Club Songs, debuting at No. 47 with "Back to Life", a cover of Soul II Soul's 30-year-old pop/R&B smash "Back to Life (However Do You Want Me)," featuring Caron Wheeler, which spent three weeks at No. 1 in August-September 1989. Her rendition was remixed by Andrew Wilson and Richard Cutmore, the Perry Twins and Wideboys, among others. Roberts told Billboard, "I was at dinner with Dauman Music label owner Jason Dauman,...my producer Damon Sharpe and we were talking about old-school songs that had a huge impact. I started singing 'Back to Life' and Jason said, 'You sound great singing that song. You should really consider redoing it.' I hadn't thought about singing it before because Soul II Soul's performance with Caron Wheeler's incredible vocals was extremely powerful. It was a bit intimidating to tackle this incredible song, but my team said, 'Let's do this!' Her third single, "Fight to the Other Side" was released in May 2019 in honor of her friend, who suffers from a rare form of muscular dystrophy known as FSHD.

Hilary has performed her music all over the United States, Mexico, and Europe. In Texas, Hilary has performed at many events, including, The Crystal Charity Ball, The Beaux Arts Ball, 1st annual Women That Soar Gala benefiting Dress For Success, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Texas (honoring Sherri Lansing, former CEO of Paramount Pictures), World Philanthropy Gala, Helping A Hero Gala, and the press release party for Women That Soar with special guest, Tina Knowles.

Over the past year, Hilary has been working on multiple musical projects with Grammy Award winning producer Damon and has worked with various contemporary artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Ariana Grande, Pitbuls, Alesso, Kylie Monogue and Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child to name a few.

In May 2019, Hilary launched the Red Songbird Foundation at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The Red Songbird Foundation, which began its work in 2009, celebrated its public launch in 2019. The Red Songbird Foundation was established to help those less fortunate obtain the care they need for trauma, mental health and alcoholism or substance abuse.

Hilary’s desire is to move people’s hearts and help them grow through situations and achieve a new level of healing and spirituality by hearing her music. “Life is about giving to others, to help each other grow, learn, feel and live life to the fullest.”- Hilary Roberts
