"KREWELLA X PEGBOARD NERDS X NGHTMRE – SUPERSTAR (THOREAU REMIX)"

When I first heard that there was a collab between Krewella, Pegboard Nerds and NGHTMRE coming out, I pretty much freaked out until I couldn’t anymore. Blending the voices of the Krewella girls with NGHTMRE’s exceptional talent at production and with Pegboard’s signature sound for one massive hit, their hit “Superstar” became an instant favorite for me when it initially released. However, newcomer Thoreau decided to make his own spin on the tune and he does not disappoint.
Curating a future melodic sound that enchants you while tastefully blending the Yousaf sister’s easily distinguished vocals with tasteful piano and a high energy drop that will leave crowds astonished, Thoreau makes his mark with only his second release under this moniker. Combining smooth guitar riffs at the end for a climax that will have you starstruck, Thoreau shows that he’s ready to join superstar names with his knack for high energy tunes that you won’t ever want to turn off. Make sure to check out the track below and to show Thoreau some support! - YourEDM

It's a magical thing that happens when a classic is flipped successfully. It's a grand task to take on, especially with chances of undermining the quality and magnitude that it's set. Ember Island is best known for their blissful covers of stand out tracks including Justin Bieber's "Where Are U Now" and the Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face". In their most recent cover, the group has taken on the 90's classic "Creep" by Radiohead. The Ember Island version was an epic depiction of raw emotions and sincerity.
Based out of Boulder, producer Thoreau has recently decided to pursue music independently and stepped away from his SummitScape project. The multi-talented producer uses his expansive musical abilities in his sound to combine the analog and electronic. This layered sound is extremely evident with his remix of Krewella, Pegboard Nerds, NGHTMRE's "Superstar". The remix merged a kinetic future bass sound with a growling guitar element to add full dimension. In his take of Ember Island's cover of "Creep", he fortifies the version with grand synths in a trembling soundscape. The track is bedazzled in hard-hitting percussions and riveting melodies. The outro works in a heavy guitar lick, emphasizing an honesty and realness in its chords. Thoreau's remix further excites audiences with his hybrid sound take highlights rock elements within top-notch electronic works.

Bio

Boulder based producer Thoreau is a unique experiment that has been received very well with 2 of his 3 releases hitting #1 on Hype Machine. Not only does he get #1 but also receives support from the likes of Krewella, Ember Island, Mr. Suicide Sheep, NGHTMRE, Pegboard Nerds, and tons more. His current endeavor is a remix EP titled the "Thoreau-Backs", including 5 modern electronic renditions of early 2000’s alternative music. These releases are true to the Thoreau style we have come to love featuring plenty of live electric guitar and subtle instrumental breakdowns.

His effortless blending of live instruments with electronic elements will take you on a musical journey. Thoreau has plenty of live performance experience, from getting booked at multiple SXSW showcases, to Lights All Night in Dallas, and Insomniac's Nocturnal Wonderland. Thoreau's new live show will include more live instrumentation than your average dj set, combining electric guitar, MIDI pads, and live vocals all routed through natively through Ableton.
