"Artist Spotlight - Irrelevent"

After branching off from the Saiza Inc crew, Kenosis, Dustin Curlee(Vilify), and his brother Derek(Manifesto), formed Irrelevent in 2011 with a goal of creating a project that will speak to listeners looking for a fresh and lyrically-driven approach to rap music. Gritty yet fresh, the group was formed with the intention of creating music that isn’t confined to a specific wall of the record store, and it is their hope that their lyrics will resonate with fans tired of the “status quo” approach to the genre.
The brothers released their first album, Burn the Sheep, in February of 2012. Shortly after, Texas producer Tripper threw some bass into things, and the 6-track EP, Burning Your Ears, was born. Irrelevent also debuted their first music video for the track “Greener Grass" in August, and already have their sophomore album in the works.
In a time where being a musician is fashionable, Irrelevent brings a raw and neoteric twist to hip-hop. With all-original lyrics, Vilify and Manifesto are making sure the art of true lyricism is alive and well. - LIfe Becomes Electric

Bio

Since 2011, Irrelevent has held fast to a simple belief that is the heart of their music: there is a glaring need for genuine hip-hop with relatable lyrics. Fueled by a high-energy, interactive live show and inspired by the response of fans searching for rap with an intelligent message, brothers Dustin and Derek Curlee have taken Irrelevent from its humble beginnings on a Texas riverbank to the forefront of a growing rap movement. Irrelevent's debut album, Burn the Sheep, was born as a grassroots project, pulling back the curtain and allowing fans to experience each step involved in independently writing and releasing a studio album. The untitled follow-up effort is planned for release in 2014.
