Bio

"I had nothing to teach him!" - Dave Bidini, Writer/Rheostatics frontman

"A future star in this laptop age." - Michael Wojewoeda, multi-Juno-winning producer
"A truly amazing voice." - Mary Margaret O'Hara, indie music legend

Imagine Paul Simon & Michael Jackson sandwiched together with a pseudo-operatic improvising platypus and you've got something mildly close to Taylor Abrahamse - singer/songwriter/actor & humorhuman. Once a Top 40 contestant on Canadian Idol, Taylor has performed for over a decade across Ontario, releasing many independent digital recordings and dazzling crowds. Recently, Taylor wrote the music & lyrics for the acclaimed new musical 'The Beaver Den', with many productions of the show popping up around already. The 2012 production was shortlisted for 'Best New Play' at the 2012 Toronto Fringe and was sold out every show. He has won the Songwriter's Association Of Canada's 'Best Young Songwriter' as a part of their SongStudio intensive, and was nominated for the same award at the Toronto Independent Music Awards.

Taylor studied at York University, focusing on a BFA in music, and his Youtube page has garnered over a quarter million views. Presently, Taylor is creating an album to be released later this year produced by Dale Morningstar (Barenaked Ladies, Neko Case).

Taylor has also done extensive acting - in particular of late, voice acting, having played a lead character in three series - Luis in the Daytime Emmy nominated series 'The Future Is Wild' (Discovery Kids), Yuki and other roles in 'Beyblade: Metal Fury' (Cartoon Network), and most recently, the voice of 'Fangbone: Third Grade Barbarian' in the upcoming Disney XD series of the same name - a series for which Taylor also ended up writing the official theme song.
