An endless passion .....He is an american/brazilian/ukrainian  guitarist, singer and songwriter hailing from Chicago, Illinois, and currently based in Florida.

“Joel DaSilva is one of the finest musicians I’ve ever worked with, a true professional. He’s paid his dues and deserves national recognition.” Albert Castiglia – National Recording Artist

Delving back deeply into his Chicago blues and americana roots, DaSilva has emerged with some truly visceral material, the culmination of years of soul searching, hard living and late night driving. The result? “Everywhere From Here”.  It captures the essence of Joel’s combustible neo-soul-roots sound which combines elements of lo-fi garage blues with a driving roots rock and roll. Joel tours the states and overseas quite often performing at high end venues and festivals and is the son of traveling musicians from Brazil, DaSilva lost his father at age 3, which had a profound impact on the young artist’s life. At the age of 18, DaSilva joined his first blues outfit as the lead guitarist for “Junior Drinkwater and the Thirstquenchers”, then went onto swing rockabilly outfit “the Regulators”, then for several years after that with the very popular high energy band “the Hep Cat Boo Daddies”. DaSilva went on to put out 5 independent records thus far in a career spanning over several years. DaSilva has worked alongside such widely recognized and diverse artists as B.B.King, Buddy Guy, Ray Charles, the Bee Gees, the White Stripes, A.C. Reed, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, Reverend Horton Heat, Foghat, Los Lobos, Leon Russell, the Black Crowes, Molly Hatchet, the Nighthawks, Edgar and Johnny Winter, JJ Grey, and Jimmie Vaughan....and many more and continue to grow.

“He Delivers the horny lyrics in a voice that recalls vintage rockabilly, but his lacerating leads are as potent as any laid down by the late great Hubert Sumlin” – WLRN 91.3 NPR Radio

His His career highlights so far include performances at Montreal International Jazz and Blues Festival, The IBC Challenges in Memphis, European tours, Festivals, and performing with BB King and Buddy Guy.  Joel has also opened for numerous famous artists during his career. DaSilva has performed well over 2000+ shows from Los Angeles to London. Joel has appeared a prestigious festivals around the world including the Montreal International Jazz And Blues Festival, Mont Tremblant International Music Festival, Curaçao Music Festival, Sunfest, Riverwalk Blues Festival, and the San Diego Music and Roots Festival.

In addition to his music career, DaSilva loves acting and has appeared in two independent films including his portrayal of “Sheriff Cousins” in the creepy noir indie film “Sleep”, featured in the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival and California Film Festival. He also co-wrote the soundtrack for “Sleep” with electronica artist Kevin Kage.
