"WKK Album Review"

Growing up, I was heavily influenced by East Coast rap; very rarely did I listen to anything else. Wasn’t until the early 2000s that I was introduced to Southern rap (AKA “Dirty South Music ”). At first, it was a hard listen due to the heavy southern drawl and slang. Over time though, I was able to decipher what they were saying. I began to realize “dem dirty south boys be rappin!!!”.

Now that I enjoy some southern artists like UGK, 8ball & MJG, No Limit Soldiers, Lil Wayne, T.I. and Jeezy, my rap palette has been opened and I want more. Fast forward to 2023, I discovered an artist by the name of Kenni Sosa, who is from Dallas, TX. He has a heavy southern accent, slick wordplay and an ear grabbing tone that makes you want to listen over and over again.

I’m not gonna front, I had to rewind a few times to try and decipher his lines. (I had to do that due to his heavy accent and not being up on the slang used in the south.) I introduce to you all Kenni Sosa.

Bio

Kenni Sosa, the rising star of hip hop, hails from the vibrant streets of Oak Cliff in Dallas, Texas. His journey began with eye-opening experiences, like the move to Duncanville, which expanded his horizons and shaped his perspective on the world.

In 2011, Kenni Sosa's music career took flight when his brother, Mike Adams, introduced him to DJ Asap, leading to a collaboration with DJ 2Klean. For years Kenni worked on his craft, producing an industry sound and being fully committed to his musical path. In 2018 Kenni took a hiatus from music, only returning recently after tragedy struck with the loss of his friend MoneyBanks in January 2023. The experience reignited Kenni's passion for music leading him to sign with Sophomore Music.

Specializing in the genres of Hip-Hop, Rap, and R&B, Kenni Sosa has made his mark with the release of his mixtape "Swag Right I'm What's Up Now" Vol. 1 in 2018 and his highly anticipated debut album "Who Killed Kenni?" on October 27th, 2023.

Kenni Sosa draws inspiration from legendary artists such as Lil Wayne, T.I, Future, and Young Dro, whose influence has shaped his unique artistic style. Songs like "Drought 3" and "Shoulder Lean" initiated his passion and fueled his desire to make his mark in the music industry.

Kenni Sosa has graced the stage opening up for renowned artists like Young Jeezy, Young Dolph, Key Glock, and Money Man. However, he faced a challenging moment during a performance for Key Glock when technical difficulties with the sound system tested his patience and connection with the crowd.

When it comes to songwriting, Kenni Sosa's approach is all about finding that instant connection with the beat and ensuring it aligns with his brand and the message he wants to convey. He thrives on collaboration, and his new album showcases exciting features with artists like Staydown Lil B and Pluto Perfect.

One of Kenni Sosa's proudest achievements is defying the odds by releasing his first-ever album, "Who Killed Kenni?" after stepping away from music in 2018. The passing of his friend MoneyBanks and the persistent encouragement from DJ 2Klean reignited his fire and propelled him back into the music scene.

Kenni Sosa's unique style and artistic vision stem from his unwavering commitment to being true to himself, regardless of the opinions of others. He stands out by leading with love while demanding the respect he deserves.

Looking ahead, Kenni Sosa's long-term goals are to become a household name and create a pathway for his family to break free from mental limitations. He aims to make a lasting impact on the industry by bringing back the essence of real music.
