"Larry opens for Chava Mirel at El Paso's Yom HaShir"

“Your performance was heartfelt and meaningful. You are truly a talented and creative performer.” “Can’t thank you enough. They loved you.” – unsolicited email from Robert French, executive director of The Jewish Federation of Greater El Paso

"deep, thoughtful and sometimes funny songs" (from the article on p. 5 of the Nov. 2018 issue) - The Jewish Voice (published by Jewish Federation of Greater of El Paso)

"Larry debuts Arab-Israeli peace song at recital hall"

in addition to a big photo of Lesser backed by 20-person middle eastern music ensemble, Victoria G. Molinar's article "Cultures merge at UTEP student concert" on p. 7B of the Feb. 11-17, 2018 issue also included this:

Jewish-American songwriter and UTEP math professor Larry Lesser premiered his song, “Break,” which he wrote 10 years ago. The word break had multiple meanings, including breaking stereotypes about cultures and breaking bread together. Originally, the song was written for guitar, but Lesser said Layali Al-Sham and the guest musicians build music around it, creating a breathtaking version of his work. “Having a 20-person ensemble perform your song – there’s nothing like that,” Lesser said. “And having time like this with Layale and Hannah was a very inspiring and humanizing experience.” - El Paso Inc. Business Journal
