"Around Town @CMW"

Rocker and writer Bob Segarini held court in the corner along with photojournalist Pat Bythe. Rob Braide was helping out Ottawa-based band Lemon Cash and convincing folks to attend their showcase later that evening., and Halifax's Carleton Music Bar owner Mike Campbell was seen with old MuchMusic, now World Vision, pal Craig Halket.

Once again the clubs were packed and we got a chance to see the aforementioned Lemon Cash who reminded us of a hybrid of Matchbox 20, Third Eye Bling and Our Lady Peace. I guess after all these years Rob Braide might know a thing or two about a hit single. - Vroom Fondel

"Jersey Girl in Canada's Interview with Lemon Cash!"

To kick off my birthday weekend (a.k.a. the last weekend of July), I finally got to interview Ottawa-based band, Lemon Cash at their first Toronto show at The Cage 292 on College Street on Friday July 24! As some of you already know, their single Sing For Me Now was voted in as Jamsterdam's song of the month for May! Here is the interview: - Jersey Girl

"11 hot shows from prog-pop to tech metal"

Another energetic show will come from local indie rockers Lemon Cash, who have won and continue to compete in a number of battle-of-the-band type competitions, with covers and now originals. You probably have heard their song Jealous Man on the local radio stations, and definitely have seen them on local morning TV shows; they also opened for iLLScarlett when they played Mavericks in February. That said, these lads win because they know how to put on a show. March 26., with The Luke Austin Band, 9 p.m., The Rainbow. $10. therainbow.ca - Kirstin E Endemann

"CLV and LIV Serve Up at HOPE Volleyball Summerfest"

We also had a staff’s family member showcase their talent at the festival! The son of our very own Annette (Construction Contractor Admin), Zack, had his very own claim to fame at HOPE, where his band opened for Sam Roberts Band. Lemon Cash had an engaged audience and were fantastic on stage! Lemon Cash are a 5 piece band hailing from our Nation’s capital and are working their way up the music industry ladder fast! They have already created a lot of buzz in the Ottawa area, coming runner up in a recent Battle of the Bands competition and are currently recording their first EP! - CLV Group

"Lemon Cash – Big Money Shot 2014 Runner-up"

Lemon Cash let loose with high energy set in front of large audience of loud and enthusiastic fans. The entertaining rock band walked away as a runner-up in this year’s LiVE 88.5 Big Money Shot competition.

They walk away with $2500 in talent support. In addition to the support, they will hit the stage at next year’s Hope Volleyball Summerfest at Mooney’s Bay Park. - Scott Martin

"Westfest kicks off summer festival season with all-Ottawa lineup"

Killer lineup

About 150 acts make up the homegrown roster, including some of the city’s big names: The internationally renowned SoulJazz Orchestra, just back from a tour of Africa, soul sensations The Split, Wakefield country-rockers Luther Wright and the Wrongs, powerhouse singer Tara Holloway, Chateau Lafayette troubadour Lucky Ron, the Voices of Praise gospel choir and the veteran rockers in Bone. You can also expect some new discoveries, thanks to the likes of Lemon Cash, Ya Hemaa and the Troubadours, to name a few. - Lynn Saxburg, Ottawa Citizen/Ottawa Sun

Bio

Our Nation’s Capital may be the second-coldest city in the world, but the music scene is HOT and the hottest band in town is Ottawa’s home-grown Lemon Cash.

Lemon Cash, founded in 2014, is Cory Papineau, Roberto Osorio, Jeff Papineau (JJ) and Zack Robillard. In a discussion of trying to find a name for the band, JJ and Cory reminisced of their first venture of working together at having a lemonade stand as boys. How they laughed and celebrated at the end of the day counting their hard-earned lemon cash. Hence their perfect name. Currently rebuilding themselves into the Country Pop/Rock genre, the boys are getting down to business with songwriting and recording, they’re excited to get their new music out.

The Lemon Cash sound is derived from the varied tastes in music that each member has; Cory has a Nashville influence, JJ admires groups with mastered harmonies, Roberto is inspired by indie and hip hop, and Zack loves 70s/80s rock & R&B. Their first EP, ‘Lemon Cash’, (James Robertson, producer, January 2016) had 2 of songs ’Turn It Up’ and ’All Over You’ gaining radio play across Canada, while the ‘All Over You’ YouTube video (December 2016) garnered over 16,200 views. The recently released, ‘Rock Your Soul’, which was pre-produced by James Robertson and produced by Damon Sharpe and Eric Sanicola, reaps radio play on local stations, as well as internationally on Radio Hamburg, Germany. The video (April 2017) has 16,233 views on YouTube.

With a loud and loyal fan base that follow them to their shows in Ottawa, Toronto, and Montreal Lemon Cash were honored to be invited to play at the Hope Beach Volleyball in 2016, at Canadian Music Week 2016 in Toronto, and privileged to have been asked for a second CMW invitation in 2017 at the Hard Rock Café. They headlined Ottawa’s Westfest (June 2017) and have performances on CTV LIVE & CBC.
