Lita Styles is a multi-talented artist. In addition to making great music, Styles dabbles in modeling, fashion, and dancing. In fact, Style started her career as a hip-hop dancer.

Elements of hip-hop, R&B, and electronica can be heard on her first single, Angels on Mars, but Styles says that she makes music that sounds like unicorns in the trap.

I ran into the beautiful Lita Styles at her Topshop event last week to promote her upcoming EP. It comes out on the 4th and is worth a spin! Lita Styles has cute fashion sense and is a fun and creative spirit!

I am flattered you would even consider me as a fashion icon! Im just a chick who loves to create, my manager prefers to call me a personality! I just happen to love fashion and music equally and I plan on continuing to create in both of those categories and more.

As genre less as R&B is starting to become, you begin to be able to weed out the chanteuses from those who smoke most days, daydream about abstract concepts and eventually wind up on Tumblr. Lita Styles, sister of noted producer Bobby Earth has had her fair share of fun crafting with The Hive Society as well as curating different sounds for some of the young fashion minds in the city. In a way, she’s like Va$htie, only a bit more low-key and far more in tune with the musical side of her mind. That’s where From A Flower Pot comes from, a standard affair that with a little water blooms into something.

Styles may get compared to a ton of similar acts like Toronto’s Rochelle Jordan and TDE’s SZA squarely because she doesn’t lift her voice towards different octaves and enjoys a chill, almost sensual vibe. She digs into space-like themes of love and acceptance on “Come Down” & “Angel On Mars” while also figuring ways to incorporate a late-night groove through Houston on the EP’s opener, “Space City”. A lot of it may seem to be a no brainer given how tight knit Lita Styles is to her brother. The sounds are going to run up and down and stick into your head while you smoke the day away. It makes From A Flower Pot a mini-adventure, even though you know what the cast of characters may bring to the table. Lita Styles is going to pull you inward on a trip, a heavy dose of a high that when its over you try to figure out how to get back there. Water something, watch it bloom, try to recreate the feeling again.

Motivated by family, Lita Styles is influenced by her mom, pops and brother,
Bobby Earth. Lita Style’s favorite genre of music is R&B, but she started as a
hip hop dancer. When we asked her what if she had any hobbies, she responded
saying, ” Is eating a hobby?”; but in her spare time, she “likes to have a good
time and be creative.”

After struggling with nursing school and a past relationship, Lita Styles is
working to promote her music internationally, model for some of her favorite
magazines and expand her creative endeavors to buy her parents a new house.

Lita Styles next EP entitled, “From a Flower Pot” drops on Tuesday, August 4th,
2015. This EP will be available for free for the general public. She will also
perform at “The 2015 MCE Summer Fest” on Saturday, August 15th, 2015 for the
midnight show at Roux 38 Restaurant & Lounge – 3811 Ennis St. Houston, TX,
77004. The venue is an Indoor/Outdoor facility, and there will be $15 pre-sale
passes available and $20 passes at the door.

Houston, Tx, July 27, 2015– Local underground socialite, Lita Styles, is set to release her debut music project, ‘From A Flower Pot’ August 4, 2015. The project, produced in part by Bobby Earth of Milky Wayv, is in the form of a 4 track EP plus a bonus track.

Lita claims to have turned to music after going through what she describes as a “rough patch” after SXSW 2015. She gained inspiration and support from Bobby Earth and M4rz, who is now her creative director and DJ. Lita says the name of her EP came to her one day as she lounged in her backyard;

“I recognized how beautiful my mom maintained her plants in flower pots. It all made sense, the only way for a seed to grow and blossom is to nurture and care for it. I felt like that’s what I’ve done for this project.”

Topshop in the Houston Galleria is scheduled to host her exclusive EP release Thursday July 30, 2015 from 6-8pm.

You might recognize Lita Styles as a fashion socialite, muse for many photographers and co-founder of art mixer, #GravityHTX. Now, she is set to release her debut music project, From A Flower Poty, August 4, 2015. The project, produced in part by her brother Bobby Earth of MilkyWayv, is in the form of a 4 track EP (plus a bonus track)!
I’ve known Lita for many years and have known that she had some vocals, but like many others, I was surprised when she announced she was going to start making music. But considering that the love of music runs heavy in her family (the #TBTs of her parents always seems to have them singing or playing some instruments), it just makes sense. In fact, the name of her EP, From a Flower Pot, was inspired by a simple act of just observing her mother’s garden.

“I came up with the name From A Flower Pot, when I was casually chillin in my backyard. I recognized how beautifully my mom, maintained her plants in flower pots. It all made sense, the only way for a seed to grow and blossom, is to nurture and care for it. I felt like that’s what I did for this project. It’s very special to me and I only hope my journey continues to grow.”

“I wanted to start this project once I left SXSW this past year. I was kinda going through a rough patch and music was the only thing that lifted my spirits. Although, music has definitely always been that source for me. Growing up around it all my life, it was always naturally instilled in me. I remember letting my friend M4RZ (now my DJ/creative director) listen to a song of mines in April. It was actually a song I wrote last year. She instantly asked me “Why aren’t you doing this?” and it clicked, why wasn’t I? Of course admiring my brother Bobby Earth make music all these years, I was ready to start creating and even more thrilled to able to work with him on my first project.” -Lita Styles, on why she started From a Flower Pot.
