Luji "The Genie"

Luji “The Genie” is an Americanized British born producer. With over 20 studio albums and hundreds of songs written and produced for other artists, Luji “The Genie” has finally decided to come out of the shadows and become his own artist.

His music is almost undefinable but instantly recognizable. It is uniquely wrapped and packed into a portmanteau of funky vivacity, very rude basslines, insulting piano fingering, savage drum sections, a jazz underbelly, and untrammeled ethereal strings reminiscent of sunsets. Think Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Usher, Chris Brown. He is a musician, a songwriter, vocal producer, studio engineer, mixer. All these attributes make Luji “The Genie” a producer sui generis.

“He is the most versatile musical producer I’ve ever heard. His musical tastes and production work crossfades genres, fusing them together as a common, universal language”, says ASCAP Film and Television Award winning composer, M. C. Burton.

Asked how he would like people to perceive his music, Luji said, “I would like my music to achieve transcendency”. Expatiating further, he mentioned that his musical influences are the late great Kashif, and Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. He wants his listeners and fans to experience the euphoria music has contributed to his life through him.

With this 10-song album, entitled “IGBA IKEJI”, loosely translated as Second Chances, Luji “The Genie” has brought a musicality that appeals to all genres. It contains classic ballads, r&b, hip-hop and pop songs. The strategy is to release a single once every month culminating in a full album release in November 2022. There will also be video releases to accompany the singles. The album will include the instrumental versions of all 10 songs for keepsake and memoirs.
