MEGATHERIUM! is a 3-piece heavy progressive rock band from Detroit, MI. Comprised of members Alexander "The Long" Harvey (Guitar and Vocals), Jon Soave (Drums) and Steve Sierawski aka StevieBe (Bass and Vocals). They are on a very intricate Rock N' Roll task of "melting your faces, playing with your brains, and shredding the gnar". They seem to be doing it in a way that separates them from a typical dirty Detroit rock band, as they are influenced by literally every single genre of music conceived by mankind, and seem to acquire that progressive/psychedelic/metal sound a million bands our trying to achieve. "With a pinch of jazz nonsense" as Alexander has once described, it also brings in that new-aged jazz feel that has been on the revival in the Motor City, and the general music scene worldwide. Established in 2012, with a few lineup changes since then, this band of middle-aged manly men refuses to let anything stop them from doing the one thing they love to do: playing funky music for crowds and partying real hard afterwards.
