Because I can’t find the words right now… this is just amazing! I love listening to hip hop artists that aren’t afraid to experiment with different sounds because, when done right, they really stand out and typically have a unique sound. Mikey Marriott‘s newest video for his track “Forever After (X_X)” is just addictive and it’s clear to hear that this Miami emcee will be here to stay if he plays his cards right. - Undrgrndnation

Hail the 305. I’m fuckin with this heavy. It’s about to pass the whip test. The beats are stupidly retarded! This is actually the second project from Marriott that I have wanted to burn to cd for the in-dash stereo. He prolly hears this much, but he has a a small Kanye twinge to his voice. Dope, tho. I needa get him on We Are The Nation vol. 1! Don’t forget to watch the official video for the intro of Trinity, “Planet of the Apes” below.

“Mikey Marriott’s presence is felt through the microphone. The 25 year old talent seemingly makes the term “Miami rapper” fly over your head once his sound explodes from the speaker. Though this is not the case with the proud Miami native; it is merely the evidence of a lifelong stream of musical influences along with what was ALWAYS a creative mind.” - Alec Burnright

Sometimes it’s not that the artist is bad but his colabs are terrible and it drowns his shine in a clout of ear bleeding bullshit, but this time around it was different. Mikey Marriott proved to be a dope artist to work with, the back and forth flow and transfer of energy from verse to verse, has a superb flow. No cluttered jibber-jabber no senseless rapping, everything was fuckin’ baby-ass-smooth.I’m also a big fan of one-liners and catchy choruses which this entire EP was specked with–my favorites would be in “Han Solo” and “Outta Miami”. To top off the skillful wordplay there is just a sick lineup of beats. Talkin’ heavy bass and enough “woop, woop’s” to get your whole house crumping.
All I have to say about Paper Water’s Back is that it’s the tightest collection of tracks I’ve heard come out of Miami in a while. Just make a better album cover next time. Overall Paper Water is a duo to keep an eye on, looking forward to more. - Hit Rob

The Duo and their Paperwater Ent. team have recently wrapped up the No Fiction Tour that was a hit. In their most recent show opening the stage for Pusha T's MNIMN Tour at Grand Central Miami (@grandcentralmia), they tore down the stage gaining the likes of the crowd as well as Miami's 103.5 The Beat personality DJ Papa Keith. Papa Keith went on to hail their performance, comparing them to the Hip Hop legends A Tribe Called Quest. - Mutaal

DJ Frank Flux and Paperwater Ent present us NO FICTION by brothers Mikey Marriott & Canvas. NO FICTION takes us back to the essence, a place that some of us have forgotten about. It reminds me of the time period when I really started getting into Hip-Hop. The tape is a breath of fresh air, especially coming from Miami, where you can pretty much get any type of genre coming out of here, from backpacker to trapper to artsy to punk. This tape really gives me that G.O.O.D. music feel before they went Hollywood, like the 05-07 version. Canvas and Marriott were brave to rap over beats from some of the greatest producers of our time, from Madlib to DOOM to Dilla with a little dab of Lofty305 and others. Honestly, the tape has that type of vibe to it where you can just play it front to back and not even realize it just cause it flows so well. But if I had to choose, one of the standout tracks for me has to be Karma then right after without being able to catch your breath comes Imagination over haunting Madlib production. Then towards the end my highlighted tracks are Life In The City, No Father, and Darling; which garners smooth vocals over some clean Loftr Uber Posher sampling. Not to mention I love what they did with the artwork and numerous Pulp Fiction samples throughout the tape. Definitely take some time out of your day to listen to NO FICTION, I guarantee you will not be disappointed - Hank McCoy

Mikey Mariott & Canvas are still going strong with their No Fiction campaign, as we have yet another video of a track that was found on the tape. With the lustrous city of Miami serving as the backdrop, “Life In The City” brings back those traditional ”hip-hop” vibes with absolutely no frills or gimmicks needed. The visuals are kept extra crisp, which certainly adds to the ambiance of the song itself. Both Mariott & Canvas are booming with talent, so let us hope that they can keep rolling on through as they continue to make a name for themselves. - Tones

The blood brothers Mikey Marriott & Canvas are hip-hop artists born and raised in Miami-Dade, FL. Both artists separately have extreme rap talent; but together, as 'No Fiction', the brothers present a product of pure entertaining golden-era hip hop. With an eye-capturing live act, as well as a distinguished sound, nobody can quite bring what the duo brings to the stage. Passion, delivery; exciting & simply fun. These two Miami natives are definitely striving past a local act & their bringing it right to Miami & beyond!
