Bio

Decades of playing music and some gritty life experiences have come together as Robert Rivers and FloodWater. Rivers carefully crafted songwriting, added with authentic Americana sounds like that from a flat-picking master, jimbay drums, harmonicas and spot-on harmonies flow from one original song to another. They are a band of multi-instrumentalists that have found the perfect blend of different, yet familiar and fun, where the songs are the real star of the show.

Meet the Band:

Robert Rivers plays guitar, harmonica and handles most of the lead vocals for FloodWater but it is his dedication to songwriting where his contribution is most evident. For the past 25 years he has spent all his energies on fine tuning his songwriting craftsmanship and the hard work really shows. As an accomplished harmonica player he has played with numerous bands and has released a nationally distributed harmonica training video which has been in print since 1994.

Liz Ficalora is a drummer, percussionist, author, teacher, producer, engineer and songwriter. A graduate of the Berklee School of Music she has a long history of performing with many well-known national acts. She recently landed a major publishing deal for her book How to Write a Fast and Easy Drum Chart which is now available. Her excellent drumming and beautiful high harmonies are a major contribution to the unique sound that is FloodWater.

Jill Sissel plays bass, acoustic and electric guitar, harmonica, piano and alto recorder. With an emphasis on songwriting, she has written and co-produced seven CDs of original material to date, two of which have garnered national attention through JP Folks which nominated her for best Americana song and album in early 2000. She fronts her own band The Delta Ride and contributes to FloodWater with vocals and high energy bass playing.
