Secret Tunnels

Secret Tunnels hits Denton with a cosmic blend of old and new with their recent single, “in time.”

The 90’s grunge guitar riffs and ringing melody are seamless with the clear vocals, resonating in a very Chris Cornell-style to take you back to the heyday of Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, or even the shoegaze side of Smashing Pumpkins.

It’s not all nostalgia though, as Secret Tunnels integrates heartfelt lyrics of hope and longing with the gritty growls of their riffs. You can easily get a sense that this local band is and always has been part of the scene with such an evergreen sound.

They are Denton through and through: art and creation blooming through the rough concrete of urban sprawl.

If you listen to their other singles, “weightless” or “here below,” it is clear that Secret Tunnels not only thrives off of their style, but is continually moving through the rock genre. They are distinct
in their messages of spiritual connection, while remaining open to the world around them.

Give “in time” a listen and soon you’ll be transported in more ways than one. I look forward to hearing more from Secret Tunnels in the future and the breath of fresh air they have to offer.
