Songs For Autumn

Taylor Mesple is a Pop, Jazz, and World producer, keyboardist, guitarist, and vocalist from Portland, Maine who has played on over 100 CDs with some of the world's finest musicians.

Bouncing back from a successful Pop record abroad, Taylor has recorded possibly his most personable record to date entitled "Songs For Autumn", a collection of Jazz instrumentals that is dedicated to his new daughter Autumn. Songs For Autumn is highly thought provoking and full of sentimental longing. Even though Taylor has created a record with Songs For Autumn, it doesn't really make any major leaps at being original or even musically groundbreaking, but Taylor's honesty and joy for what he does shines like a bright star in the darkest of night.

There are several outstanding tracks to pay attention to: "Autumn" has a light and easygoing nature about it. Accompanying Taylor on "But I Miss You Most Of All" is cellist Hannah Alkire, together they bring to the forefront the raw emotions of yearning and disappointment that is simply beautiful in a haunting way. I'm convinced that "Underneath The Stars" would work perfectly on the Smooth Jazz stations, because it embodies the sensual, midnight love overtones that is quite signature for the "Smooth" format.

It's really great to hear Jazz played with such passion and beauty. Songs For Autumn will compliment any romantic evening or if you just want a quiet time alone, I say spend that quiet time with Taylor Mesple.

Bio

Taylor Mesple (pronounced "Mess-Play") is an artist with deep experience, huge talent and sharp views about life, people and world events. A father of 3 kids and a husband to a singer/songwriter wife, he sees music as a vital language to make the world a better place, one great song at a time. After recording over 2000 songs as a professional "sideman" musician, he is concentrating at long last on his own art and playing shows as a solo artist and with his band. This has not been possible until now given the heavy demand on his time from producing other people's music and pouring energy into his young kids. They are growing up now and want to see their dad on stage.

Taylor has recorded and/or performed with some of the world's finest musicians (James Taylor, Keb' Mo, Abe Laboriel Jr., William Topley, Winston Ford, Bill Chinnock, Howard Levy, Peter Mayer, Tim Pierce, Mel Brown and Nelson Rangell, to name a few). Taylor is called "one of my favorite artists" by Russell Ferrante (Yellowjackets) and has been given a nod of approval from the likes of Bruce Hornsby and Eric Johnson.

Taylor has played on or produced over 210 CD's since his full time music career began at at 13.

Taylor's own artistry is varied and rich.

"Elusive" was released this summer. It features top players like Abe Laboriel Jr. and Tim Pierce. It combines 'Singer/Songwriter' honesty with some Rock punch and some Jazz/Fusion sophistication.

"All the While" (2009) is in the genre of Sting/Hornsby/Peter Gabriel/Nik Kershaw

"Victory Land" (2002) is in the genre of Sting/Hornsby/Peter Gabriel/Richard Page

"Songs for Autumn" is in the genre of Metheny/Yellowjackets/Pat Leonard.

His CD's have done well overseas with reviews and airplay- particularly Sweden, Denmark and Germany.
