"Top 7 Knoxville Albums / EPs Of 2015 So Far"

This started as a top five list, and I was incapable of actually narrowing down the field of great albums and EPs from Knoxville acts in 2015. Getting it down to even seven was a struggle, and it's still entirely possible, likely even, that albums like Zach & Kota's Sweet Life, or When The Morning Comes Around, or Element will make it on the big album list at the end of the year. It's an embarrassment of riches, Knoxville, and I hope you've been paying attention. If you need to catch up or could use a recap on good records from local bands, we've got you covered.

In no particular order, here are the seven best:

"The Monday Movement Ready to Drop Debut EP"

Get to know this band because you're going to be hearing about them more and more. Knoxville's The Monday Movement is set to release their debut EP Through The Fire/ Through The Night tonight at The Square Room. They'll be joined by Asheville-based indie-rock band Press. Their first song released from that record, "Eleanor (Don't Fail Me)" is posted above.

The Monday Movement is one of those interesting bands that combines a kind of folk-rock vibe with a rich sound involving a lot of pedals and effects. This debut EP has been nearly a 18 months in the making, and if the first song is any indication, it looks like it will be well worth the wait.
