"The Invisible World: "Welcome to The Invisible World""

Welcome to The Invisible World is the debut EP from Kansas City based indie rockers The Invisible World. The band of Jesse Collins, Bryce Veazey, Jon Gibbens and Brandon Woodall have delivered 6 tracks that take diverse elements from alt rock, alt country and folk rock. What results is an EP full of tight instrumentals, strong vocals and songs packed with imagery. The tracks are radio ready affairs that are reminiscent of bands like Neutral Milk Hotel and Band of Horses. This is a must have. "Backstage Pass: The Invisible World"

Here at Ourtunez, we get a lot of independent musicians uploading their music looking for exposure and new fans. We blend mainstream music with the music uploaded by our users. A problem that that can arise is that sometimes, no matter how talented the musicians are, the sound quality is noticeably lower than more established mainstream music. This is NOT the case of The Invisible World, a rock band from Kansas City. They are one of the most professional sounding bands you can hear on Ourtunez.com.

Jesse Collins (vocals, guitar), Bryce Veazey (guitar, vocals), John Gibbens (bass, guitar) and Brandon Woodall (Drums) have been playing together for 10 years, first as A Dead Giveaway, and after taking a break in 2010, rebranded and reunited as The Invisible World in 2012. “The name is something I came up with while listening to a radio program a few years ago called Coast to Coast AM. They were talking about the subject of the afterlife and about a world that exists between the one we know here and Heaven or Hell, they called that world ‘The Invisible World’,” said Jesse.

Some of their early success can be attributed to a crowdfunding campaign for a music video for the song “Cars”. “Within days of its release, ‘Cars’ was making regular rotations on social media networks while receiving accolades from radio station personalities and professional film directors. It was evident that The Invisible World was becoming a very visible presence in the Kansas City music scene.”

The Invisible World decided to work with producer Jason Scott Smith for their first official release, Welcome To The Invisible World. Jesse Collins commends Jason for his work on the album saying he “really allowed us to find melodies that we didn’t know were there, and then refocus parts of songs onto those new discoveries.” Talking about the recording of the album he added, “It’s really quite incredible that a group of friends can get together over the course of 4-5 months and create something like this EP. We did it all in bedrooms and basements.” This five track EP is an impressive blend of rock and folk. The vocals are clean and powerful and the music ranges from hard to soft, never skipping a beat. Lyrics and music fuse seamlessly, creating an atmosphere that is very real.

“It was never intentional, but I do believe that once we stepped back and looked at the EP as a whole some very distinct themes emerged. There’s a narrative throughout the EP that seems to gravitate towards imagination, or even dreamlike scenes. There are themes of self-awareness, sub-conscious grapplings with life and the desire to be satisfied with one’s place in it. On a surface level our songs are about life, love and loss, all the basics that most songs are written about. But I think the way we phrase things and the musical accompaniment that we place it inside of creates a distinct perspective that opens doors to themes that are more felt instead of defined. As far as a message, we think life is meant to be explored, I’d say our songs exemplify that notion and hopefully motivate the listener to take some action in their own life. Whatever that be.” Well said.

We at Ourtunez see a bright future for The Invisible World. I personally feel any one of these songs can gain traction in the mainstream rock scene and take this band to new heights. Their live shows are described as “lively and full of energy,” mesmerizing the crowd with smooth transitions and putting on a performance. New music is on the way. Can’t see this talented band quitting any time soon. - Ourtunez

"Welcome to The Invisible World"

Kansas City isn't just known for it's incredible bar-b-que, being the hometown of Mickey Mouse, or it's awesome water fountains, it's also know for breeding some of the most talented musicians and bands in the business; The Invisible World is one of those bands. Don't believe me, just go listen to their latest 6 song EP release, WELCOME TO THE INVISIBLE WORLD. This project is stacked from the moment it starts. Big time guitar chops, great vocals, and nice songwriting is what 'Welcome To The Invisible World' is all about.

Of all the songs on the project, the one the really hit me was "Better Man". This track is all about the fact that hindsight leaves us with 20/20 vision about life's lessons, and how if we could go back and change some of the stuff from our past we would. The track is very energetic, catchy, well played, well written, and well produced. I love the drums, the guitar chops, and the vocal arrangements. You've got to hear this song, it's incredible.

I also enjoyed other tracks like JEANS, WANDERING MAN, and MAYBE. Each track brings its own uniquely powerful sound, adding personality to the overall project. WELCOME TO THE INVISIBLE WORLD is definitely a journey that every alternative rock music fan should take, and I'd love to see where this KCMO band is going to take their collective career.

Overall, I'd recommend buying the WELCOME TO THE INVISIBLE WORLD EP if you're a fan of great rock music. Of the 6 songs on the project, I found 4 that I liked, and that's pretty rare nowadays. The Invisible World, is definitely one of the best bands I've heard thus far this spring, and I'm sure you'll get what I mean once you sink your earbuds into these guys' music. - I Am Entertainment

"Music Forecast 4.17-4.23"

After nearly a decade playing together, the four members of Kansas City's the Invisible World are ready to unveil a reincarnated sound. The band, once known as A Dead Giveaway, is back with a brand-new EP titled Welcome to the Invisible World, and it's a smooth, assured effort from a group that finally seems to have it figured out. Lead singer Jesse Collins has a rich, gold-hued voice that rolls over the gentle guitar of "Bad Company Corrupts Good Behavior" and soars through the upbeat folk pop of "Juliet." It's a record ready to usher in the calendar's first unbroken run of sunny days, and you can feel the warmth as the Invisible World celebrates the EP's release Saturday. - The Pitch

The Invisible World is a four-piece alternative rock band from Kansas City Missouri. Jesse Collins, Brandon Woodall, Bryce Veazey and Jon Gibbens created The Invisible World to explore a new genre after departing with a former project. Since establishing in early 2012, the band has self-released 2 EPs and a crowd funded Music video. “Welcome to The Invisible World”, the most recent release - is 5 songs of the band’s best to date. Working with close friend and producer Jason Scott Smith, The Invisible World planted the beginnings of what is now becoming a genre spanning and confident sound.  In under a year the EP has seen expanding radio placements across the United States, while also gaining licensing options in other media outlets.

Also landing the band on the bill with national artist such as Robert Francis, Rev. Peyton’s Big Damn Band, Caught a Ghost, Daniel Ellsworth and the Great Lake, and Papa.

As a project, The Invisible World is not limited to just music. A self-produced and crow-funded short film for their song “Cars ” became an official selection for the 2014 Interfilm Berlin Film Festival. The band has also lent efforts in the creation of an independent documentary about a friend and former manager named Jesse “Opie” Ross, whose disappearance from Chicago in 2006 remains unsolved.

Wasting no time, the band is currently underway on a new album, expected for release in mid 2015. The Invisible World is a venture into the intangible; an attempt to capture the scenes that cannot be seen.
