"One Hundred Miles per Hour"

The Oceanic Movement had a really lovely sound, dreamily mellow rock and roll with sparkling guitars. I instantly liked them, and it also helped that they were super nice and gave me one of their demos. - Fifile Nguyen

Bio

Multi-instrumentalist, Brian Dunham and guitarist, Donny Wentz met while playing in the now defunct band, Undercover Alien. The two have since reinvented their sound and continue creating music together under the new moniker, The Oceanic Movement. With a wide array of influences like Minus the Bear, Phantogram, Local Natives, Two Door Cinema Club, Band of Horses and The Postal Service, their sound spans the breadth of the indie sub-genres with elements of mellow folk-rock, dancey electro-pop, and guitar-driven post-rock. Atmospheric synths and electronic percussion and bass mix with organic acoustic sounds and delay-soaked guitar leads to create the band's unique sound.

The Oceanic Movement was formed in October of 2011 and since then, the duo has been feverishly working on their debut release, Lullabies for the Comatose, which will showcase their diverse blend of styles. In between writing songs and recording tracks, the band makes time to play open mic nights and free shows to garner recognition and build a fan-base. They released their first EP, Don't Wake Me, on October 4th 2012.
