"Boston Metal Music Examiner"

"Behind the vocal is a talented slew of musicians who give new meaning to the words "well rounded". Varied musical styles and inspirations and extracurricular interests blend into an incredibly balanced sound which has the ability to both make you want to move and get into a relaxed state at the same time. The music is powerful and complex with layers of melody. You definitely don't want to miss this band if they happen to be playing in your town, because pretty soon you'll be wishing you'd paid the $10 cover to see them live instead of the $50+ ticket to see them grace the big stage as a headlining act at any major venue or music festival." - Jennifer Russo, Boston Metal Music Examiner (Oct, 2011)

"Up & Comers: Thurkills Vision"

"Like their namesake Thurkill, a fictional character who had a vision of what he needed to do in life to find success, the band had a vision of combining different styles to create a signature sound that clobbers you with a mean punch right to your eardrums. It makes you simultaneously want to bang your head to escape from the daily blah while honing in on their masterful lyrics." - Jennifer Russo, The Pulse Mag (Jun, 2011)

Bio

Sponsored by Jagermeister, and voted Best Hardcore/Metal Act 2012, 2013, & 2014 (Pulse Mag's Worcester Music Awards), Thurkills Vision is a 5-piece melodic, metal outfit hailing from Lowell, Massachusetts. Formed in 2006, the group is led by the fierce and equally alluring voice of singer, Yamil Melendez; it combines influences of metal, alternative, and rock to create a hybrid sound. The hard hitting rhythm section featuring David Malave on drums and bassist, Matt Frotten lay the foundation for guitarists, Eric Williams and Bobby Rourke, who drive the band with their aggressive, thrash-inspired playing. Along with the auditory assault that is their music, the band also brings to the table a high-intensity live show, which has become a staple for the group. Since forming, the band has played shows all over the New England area, sharing the stage with national touring acts such as KoRn, Asking Alexandria, Sevendust, Suicide Silence, Body Count, 10 Years, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Drowning Pool, Ill Nino, Three Days Grace, Escape the Fate, Seether, Taproot, Nonpoint, Sick Puppies, Lacuna Coil, Hed PE, Smile Empty Soul, CKY, 40 Below Summer, and Powerman 5000, to name a few. The band was honored to be the hand-picked winner of the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands and play the Rockstar Energy UPROAR Festival in August, 2011, and the hand-picked winner of the Sumerian Records Headbang for the Highway to play the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival in July 2014.
