"Ree Boado EP Release Showcase"

Tina Estes was the last minute replacement for Obadiah Parker, but you wouldn't know it by her performance, she fit in with the evening perfectly and really took to the storytelling side of the event, explaining what her songs were about. She was also magnificently personable and the crowd warmed to her instantly. At first it was just her on the guitar, but soon Tobie Milford joined in to beautifully accompany her with his violin which included a fantastic reggae number inspired by Bob Marley. The most amazing thing is that she has only played guitar for three years and it seemed completely natural! Her set was filled with wonders such as "Last Time" about the karmic return of lovers playing the game and getting played, a beautiful ballad that showed off the range of her voice called "September" and when she switched to piano, a soulful song called "Rachmaninoff" that was inspired by the works of the composer with the powerful refrain "why don't you see me?" Her set was a stunner and I can't wait to hear more from this artist. - Mitchell Hillman

"Tina Estes in the Spotlight"

Tina M. Estes is a passionate, talented, and unrelenting artist born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. She has written and performed music for the past eight years and was named “Phoenix’s Most Soulful Artists of the Year” by RadioPhoenix.org. Tina has released multiple EP’s and singles, most notably her recent 2014 single titled “One Two”. As a performer and philanthropist, she has successfully raised thousands of dollars through grass roots advertising and social media platforms. Tina is the host of RAW: Natural Born Artists; a platform showcasing the nation’s largest and most successful Indie Artists. With over 80 cities worldwide holding RAW shows every month, she has received the “Top 10 Host” award for 3 straight years and “Host of the Month” twice within the past year.
Tina is very proud of all that she has accomplished; her most prized achievement being her role as a mother. As a mother of three, she admits that balance is not easy, however it is attainable. While raising children who have consistently remained on Honor Roll and attained awards for Great Character and Perfect Attendance, she maintains the importance of investing in her children and always being aware of their needs in the midst of a full professional career.
Looking for an outlet to give back to the community, Tina decided to join SOUNDS Academy as the Charity Event Coordinator. As a lover of music and children, and a person that values social justice and empowerment she feels that SOUNDS Academy give young musicians the platform to even the musical playing field and empower themselves through music education and character development. - Kirk Johnson

"Tonight! Tina Estes & Friends Take Over the Crescent"

Tina Estes has been bubbling under in the Phoenix scene for quite some time now, and recently releasing a single "One Two" is only increasing her buzz. Tina is one of the hosts of the RAW Art shows here in PHX, and not only is she constantly around town playing her own music, she's also constantly sitting in with bands, singers, and artists of all types - odds are you'll see her around the Valley on any given night, and it only takes one time meeting her to become fast friends.

Tonight, Tina will be headlining perhaps the best music venue in Phoenix, the Crescent Ballroom. Opening for her are The Stakes, Morris Alan, and Alyssia & Andrew - doors open at 7pm, show begins at 8. Make sure you get there early, as all of these acts are absolutely worth seeing !

Are you going to this show, or any others this week ? If so, let me know in the comments below ! - Steve Peter

"Tina Estes Releases 'One Two'"

If it’s good, I’ll support it. So when Tina Estes, long-time friend and reader of Miss Dimplez.com, put out an inspirational single, there was no question when it came to sharing it.
The record is called “One Two” and is overwhelming triumphant after a year of challenges. Tina took to her Facebook to detail the following: “I’ve had some pretty blatant failures over the past year. Not making it past round 1 of The Voice auditions in LA, not delivering my best in a few key performances I’ve had…but I use these valuable experiences as building blocks with an unrelenting ambition to always improve and truly unveil my potential. I’ve always believed that everything you need can be found from within.”
I agree! Take a listen to Tina Estes‘ “One Two”, below. - Rebecca Ijeoma

"MegaRan Release 'Losses' Featuring Joell Ortiz, MURS and Tina Estes"

Philly-born Teacher/Rapper/Producer Random aka Mega Ran is no newcomer on WIB and you will be seeing and hearing a lot more from the man as a guest contributor on this site – but that is by the way. At the moment, he drops the heart felt new single ‘Losses‘ with assists from Joell Ortiz and MURS. The EP wherein this track is taken from is titled Wouldn’t Miss It For The World and it’s scheduled to drop in Spring of this year.
Need I say more, another round of goodness to begin the day with.
After being named a “Rapper Likely To Be Big in 2014” by LA Weekly, Mega Ran steps to the plate in a lead-off role and blasts a thunderous home run. His new track “Losses” is a heartfelt lifeline to anyone who’s lost anything or anyone to the high-stakes game of the streets, produced by Alex Minor.
Ran recruits Brooklyn’s Joell Ortiz of Slaughterhouse and LA’s indie rap hero MURS, and tops it off with a soulful chorus by Arizona songstress Tina Estes to drive it home, making “Losses” a vast departure from the video-game tinged tracks that he’s been known for as of late. “Losses” is the lead off for Mega Ran’s newest EP, “Wouldn’t Miss It For The World,” coming this spring as a free download. -

Muy fuerte como mi madre.

Lucharemos! -

Bio

This band started as a solo act with it's lead vocalist and band leader, Tina Estes. She plays the piano, acoustic guitar and percussion and holds her own well behind the mic solo. But when she then ran into fellow bandmates, Mark Michaud and Chals Lello at gigs around the city, it was love at first strum. The chemistry between the trio is something that takes decades to build, that they have experienced instantly. The drummer hails from Jamaica, the bassist from Tanzania, and the vocalist a first-generation American from the Philippines but also Native American on her father's side. They have been a trio for two years, and have now expanded to include a viola player and an electric guitarist. They have large following brewing in their hometown and some in other cities. They are ready to take the show on the road in a major way and show America and the world, what they've been missing out on!
