"Album Review: The Great Minimum by Tow’rs"

Tow’rs is a fun, energetic and thought-provoking band originating from the beautiful town of Flagstaff, AZ. Their folk roots filled with passionate and soulful lyrics bring peaceful music to your ears. Not only are they all wonderful people, but they are an extremely talented band. They released their first self-titled album, Tow’rs, last summer, which is an amazing album. Now they have followed their first album up with The Great Minimum; This is an album filled with beautiful lyrics, cool riffs and fun songs, that have a hint of rock elements to them. Some of their solos are quite fun, the drums are heavier this time and yet they still keep their lovely sound. This is an amazing album that any music enthusiast will love! Please check out this band and their two splendid albums. You can click on the album above and it will take you to an iTunes preview where you can preview this album. Check it out and make a purchase you will not be disappointed with! Plus, buying this album will truly help out the extremely talented artists of this band and help them share their lovely tunes with more people! - Kurtis Gefrom

"Music Thursday: The Great Minimum"

Tow’rs hails from Flagstaff, Arizona – a place from which I haven’t heard much music (nor is it an area known for music). Their self-titled debut release (a mini-album/long-EP) was intriguing enough to prompt a download and listen. Their full-length, however, is much more engaging and memorable. The Great Minimum capitalizes on the evident strengths of Tow’rs’ first release, and it develops some of its weaker areas.

The clearest strength of the album is the vocals. The melodies and harmonies are outstanding, and none of the voices wear down on the listener (as can sometimes be the case with folk). The lyrics strike a contemplative chord, often lingering on thoughts of finding peace amidst struggle. The struggle is never smothering, but the peace in the lyrics can be hard to find. Therefore, the lyrics paint a realistic picture of our journeys through life.

Musically, the release is very well balanced. The people at Tow’rs definitely know what they’re doing and where they’re going musically. The music always seems at ease with the vocals, never feeling forced or unnatural. It is evident that the band has spent dedicated time since their last release to define their own musical identity. -

"Episode 171: Tow’rs"

The music of Tow’rs is not typical indie folk. The band sits down with The Antidote to discuss their faith, struggles, and their upcoming album, The Great Minimum.... - The Antidote Radio

"A night jam packed with music"

Performing right in the heart of where it all began, local band Tow’rs played at The Orpheum Theater Oct. 15. Tow’rs is a relatively new band having only been together for two years. However, their infancy does not reflect the bands ability. Tow’rs members are all experienced musicians.

Taking the stage along side indie/folk rock band Tow’rs were a handful of musicians yearning to leave their musical mark in Flagstaff... - Makenna Lepowsky

Bio

Every story begins somewhere. Ours began in the mountains of Flagstaff, Arizona. We were originally a group of strangers who found each other through a deep love for music & story telling.  Over the years we have become a family, writing not just our music together, but our lives. Our sights are set on being students of story with one another and loving people through our craft.
Through our music, we explore the questions that haunt us, the pain that marks us, and the hope that redefines everything for us.  We invite you into the conversation, build with us, find your place at the table.
