Bio
Vincent Bishop (born Vincent Benoit Lévesque) is a Canadian musician who is pursuing a solo career as a singer-songwriter. He is a native of the city of Vancouver and lived there until one and a half years old. Then he lived in Summerland, a western town near Kelowna, and is now an Ottawa resident since the age of 5.
He developed an affinity and talent for composing complex yet well balanced harmonies very early on. Holding a left-handed Seagull guitar and his loop pedal, Vincent Bishop brings energy to captivated audiences of his versatile work.
The long-haired folk/pop musician is known around Ottawa for his electrifying and optimistic performances. In fact, his debut full length album, released November 14, 2015, was even titled “Out of the Dark” as a beacon of making it through difficult teenaged years, which many of his audience members relate to. Each of the twelve tracks on the album was composed and arranged by Vincent himself. They feature intricate instrumentation, witty lyrics and the flavours of many musical genres, including hints of reggae, hip-hop and soul.
Vincent wrote his first songs at 14 years old. As of September 2013, Vincent axes on his songwriting and performance skills at the Carleton University, pursuing the Bachelor of Music program. He performed in numerous talent shows in high school and student recitals in university. He currently gigs at local bars and cafés in the Ottawa area in addition of participating in open mics. Vincent has been airing live on CKCU 93.1 FM three times inside the Carleton Music Showcase radio show.
After putting on a successful release show for his album, Vincent is aiming to expand his fan base through live concerts and festivals in Ontario and Quebec.
