"Wake Up Joel soundtrack credit in "'Learning to Drive"- What We Can Learn From the Short Film, “Learning to Drive”"

One more piece of the film I loved is the way the soundtrack is used. Especially the single, “Slip Again” by Wake up Joel. It’s perfect and used perfectly in the film. There are many eloquent lyrics, and the vocals haunting with “ashamed in excess,” but the simplicity of this sentiment:

“Trying to keep my shit...straight.
Trying to find some…faith.”

Bio

Wake Up Joel is a diverse collaborative of musicians writing songs that are accessible and somewhat "mainstream", while remaining rooted in passion and dark humor. Self deemed as indie/alternative, inspirations range from Muse, The Strokes, and Arcade Fire, to The Chariot, Everytime I Die, Talking Heads, and Taking Back Sunday. The band's most notable influences are certainly present in the music and their most accurate and frequent comparisons are that of The National, Queens of the Stone Age, and Muse.

As of 2015, Wake Up Joel has been raising money to promote, distribute and tour in support of their EP 'The Atheist' leading up to their upcoming LP which will be their third official release since 2014's 'Mother Aches'z
