I recently got a chance to sit down with Wally Richerson and have a candid conversation about his approach to the music he creates and get a insiders view on the local as well as the national music scene, and the direction he believes it is moving in.
Bookie Nae:
What is your inspiration for the songs you put on paper and guitar and where do you pull from as a basis for your songs?
Wally Richerson:
I draw from memories and experiances from my past. I always try to write as non fictional as I can. Of coarse you cant always use real names that might get some locals in trouble. Lol.
Bookie Nae:
What is your take on the local scene, and what do you think the future holds for singer songwriters as well as fans alike?
Wally Richerson:
I think that the local scene , especially in south Alabama is hot with musicians who are great instrumentalist as well as vocalist. It is brimming with talent. Mobile, Alabama in my humble opion is well on it's way to being the next Seattle if you will. That in part is a big help from Jake Peavey and The Cedar Street Social Club. He and his crew (The Outsiders) have really brought a good vibe and cool scene. - Evil Toenail Entertainment
Discography
Wally Richerson is soon to release his debut album "Water After The Rain" in November 2019. The first single release will be "Dark Water" which is a gritty poetic look at a life in the shadows. The 6 track LP will also have the much anticipated "Written With You" co- written by Angela Renee Jones.
