"3 new Ontario songs you need to hear this week, Nov. 7 edition"

DB Cooper just released this video for The Road, which should look instantly familiar to anyone who frequents Steeltown.

The strength of a good pop-rock tune is usually the vocals, and that's totally the case here. They carry this track from start to finish. - CBC Hamilton

"Video of the Day: The Road"

Here’s the latest from the boys in DB Cooper. It’s the title track from their EP, The Road. It’s a seriously catchy tune and it’s always fun seeing familiar Hamilton sites scattered throughout the video. Check it out! - hamiltonONmusic

"DB Cooper "The Road" (video)"

Last we heard from Hamilton, ON-based indie rock crew DB Cooper, they delivered a live video performance of "Broken Record" from their debut EP, The Road. Now they're ready to reveal the video for the album's title track, and Exclaim! has got the exclusive premiere.

As explained by the band, the clip for "The Road" features the band members embracing alter-egos and "heeding the call to rock'n'roll." We see Jeff the socialite, Ben the vinyl obsessive, Daniel the wild man, Eric the moody goth and the forgotten new addition, Oliver, pulled from their normal lives and thrust into a mysterious van — and a life on the road.

The video was directed by Nathaniel Deshpande, and you can watch all the fun-filled action in the player below. - Exclaim Magazine

"DB Cooper - "The Road" [Music Video]"

The Skinny: DB Cooper is an Ontario-based rock group dedicated to hook-filled songwriting, energetic live shows, and charming music videos. The band just released its second music video for the song "The Road" which features the members of DB Cooper, in their alter-egos of socialite Jeff, vinyl obsessive Ben, wild-man Daniel, moody goth Eric and forgotten new addition Oliver, heeding the call to rock and roll.

Each pulls themselves from their normal lives to enter a mysterious unmarked van, which delivers them to their concert site "at the end of the Road." The track itself is pulled from the band's 2015 EP of the same name, and the video is directed by returning collaborator Nathaniel Deshpande. - Pure Grain Audio

"New video released by DB Cooper"

Ontario based band, DB Cooper has just released their second music video which is for their single, “The Road” from their EP of the same name. The video features the members of the band in their alter-egos of soclialite Jeff, vinyl obsessive Ben, wild-man Daniel, moody goth Eric and new addition, Oliver. The coolest part of the video is that they enter a mysterious unmarked van, which delivers them to their concert site…”at the end of the road”.

"3 new Ontario songs you need to hear this week"

Hamilton's DB Cooper knows how to write a pop hook. This tune will no doubt stick in your head right away, largely on the strength of these vocals.

This new music video is definitely worth a watch, too — but apologies to anyone who has some deeply repressed memories about fourth grade dodgeball games that it drags up, though. - Adam Carter - CBC Hamilton

"DB Cooper - "Broken Record" (Current Sessions video)"

Hamilton, ON-based indie rockers DB Cooper released their latest EP The Road earlier this year, and now the five-piece have offered up a new take on a track from that record for a video from the Current Sessions.

The clip was filmed at Chalet Studios in Claremont, ON, and features DB Cooper delivering a stripped-down and rearranged rendition of "Broken Record." Acoustic guitar and piano lay the foundation for crisp, radio-friendly pop harmonies, bare-hand percussion and an ever-jangling tambourine.

You can see the band's upcoming Ontario tour dates below, and if you scroll past those, you can get your first look at the video premiere of "Broken Record" in the player at the bottom of the post.

"Review – DB Cooper"

EP – The Road
Release Date – March 17, 2015
iTunes Link – https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/the-road-ep/id967345914
Genre – Rock

Hamilton, Ontario based Indie Rock band, DB Cooper is made up of five members, Dan (Vocals), Jeff (Guitar/Keys/Vocals), Darren (Guitar/ Vocals), Ben (Bass/ Vocals) and Eric (Drums). The band released their debut EP entitled “The Catherine North EP” in 2014, and now they have released their sophomore release, “The Road” which includes six songs, all written and arranges by the band, and recorded, mixed & produced by Derek Hoffman at Fox Sounds in Toronto, ON.

The EP starts on a strong note, with “Say Goodnight” which will have you itching to get out of your seat and jump around… guaranteed. I can imagine that this song would killer performed live, and luckily one of Canadian Beats writers will be attending their release show tonight in Toronto, so if you’re interested in hearing more about what DB Cooper is like live, be sure to keep an eye out for the show review in the coming days.

Now, back to the EP, the third song, “The Election” is the first single from the EP, and I can understand why they chose it. Anyone who is a fan of pop or rock will more than likely enjoy this song, but I can see it appealing to fans of any genre.

It’s impossible for me to choose a favourite on the EP, as each song has quickly become stuck in my head. The final song, “All Together” starts slower, but quickly bursts out with that high energy that you will notice in each song. Like the other tracks on the EP, you will feel the need to get up and dance, and of course, you will more than likely find yourself singing along with this up & coming rock band.

"Handful #2: Brooklyn Doran"

DB Cooper is an emerging indie-rock outfit based out of Hamilton, Ontario. Most of their stuff has a bit more of a rock feel, but I’m drawn to this tune particularly because it stands out as soft and introspective- compared to the other music they’ve been putting out. They also have a new record coming out this March 2015. - We Close Tonight

"Concert Review"

Hamilton Ontario definitely has something to showcase with up-and-coming band DB Cooper. Formed in late 2013, the band was named after the famous story of an unidentified man who managed to hijack a plane and successfully steal about $200,000 USD before parachuting to an unknown location and leaving the passengers of the flight poor but otherwise unharmed. With a name like that, they’ve gotta be writing fucking badass music, right?

Comprised of Jeff Beemer (Guitar/Vox), Eric Davis (Drums), Darren Marranca (Guitar, Vox), Dan Mauro (Lead Vox), and Ben Peirson (Bass), DB Cooper’s live show is a clever mix of cover and original, showcasing an undeniably pop-influenced indie rock vibe.

Their first release “The Catherine North EP” [April, 2014] was recorded at Catherine North Studios in Hamilton with producer Dan Hosh (who also happens to be the bass player of 1951). - Tunes for Tea (blog)

"Caledonia Fair will feature local artists"

You may have heard the name DB Cooper before. In fact, it may sound quite familiar to some of you. At least that’s what this Hamilton-based band would have you think.

In 1971, DB Cooper was wanted by the FBI for robbing an airplane, in flight, and escaping with upwards of $200,000. He’s never been found. But this young band filled with lads from Caledonia is poised to make his story public, all the while performing their own unique music.

DB Cooper is comprised of Jeff Beemer, Ben Peirson, Dan Mauro, Darren Marranca and Eric Davis. The latter three are born and raised Caledonians.

The band spends most of their time rehearsing around the Caledonia area while performing their indie-alternative rock songs in Toronto, Hamilton and as far as Windsor.

Having released their first single The Catherine North EP in February, the band has already shared the stage with the likes of Arkells at the [soon to be torn down] Guvernment in Toronto. Much like their name, DB Cooper provides a sound that is infectious and unique, yet is somehow familiar.

“We wanted to create something new that was poppy yet exciting,” said Beemer, guitarist for the band. “I think we were able to accomplish that with our first release and the songs we’re yet to release.”
Having recorded their first single at the infamous Catherine North Studios in Hamilton, DB Cooper is set for the recording studio again soon. “We’ve been writing so many songs, we want to get more out there.”

DB Cooper is just one of the bands performing on the main stage at the Caledonia Fair; they will be playing on Friday, September 26 at 8:30 p.m. - Grand River Sachem

"PLAYLIST – JUNE 2014"

"You can have your scene
Where you can be seen
When you’re coming clean
But I know where you’re gonna go"

DB Cooper are a new band on the scene, but its members certainly aren’t new to making music, having played in several local bands. After coming together they released their first EP Catherine North in April and it was recorded at (where else!) Catherine North with producer Dan Hosh. Check out the lyric video for this track and catch them in town next on July 25th at The Casbah with Wild Night and Xprime. - I Heart Hamilton blog

"Videos for a Lazy Saturday: DB Cooper’s ‘The Election'"

The video for Hamilton, Ontario indie rockers DB Cooper‘s ‘The Election’ finds members of Xprime, The Royal Streets and Brooklyn Doran squaring off against each other in a high-intensity game of dodgeball.

DB Cooper recorded the EP at Catherine North Studios with producer Dan Hosh (City and Colour, Whitehorse, Royal Streets). This lead to the band taking the top prize at Globe Media’s Big Gig and sharing the stage with fellow Hamiltonians The Arkells.

The band is planning to release their sophomore EP in March, title and date TBA. Derek Hoffman of Fox Sounds (The Elwins, Crystalyne, Brighter Brightest) helmed the boards for their latest effort. - Hanging @ The Back

"New video released by DB Cooper"

Toronto & Hamilton based rock band, DB Cooper just released a video for their single, “The Election” on February 17, 2015. The song is energetic and upbeat, and after hearing it, I am stoked to hear more from them! - Canadian Beats

"OntarioLiveMusic.ca at the Ontario Tourism Summit"

...To top it all off, we had Hamilton’s DB Cooper on-hand to entertain Summit attendees. The indie rock group played a great set between conference sessions – entertaining the Marketplace and helping us prove that live music really is #AlwaysON. - Music Canada
