Bio

Wet City Rockers, a Seattle born band that sparked in a overgrown sticker bushed Georgetown shack back in 2003. Micah and Bill met in this Georgetown band playing with a group of musicians, some of which who had already been established in the Seattle music scene. They got together once a week to make Dub music and listen to some of the old classic 70's 80's Reggae artists they all loved and admired.

Micah, vocalist, aka "Cojak Lamone", who had grown up in a musical family and apparently lived with music equipment in his living room, had just got back from the sin city singing in an R&B a cappella group and was looking for a new music endeavor. A year or so after the Georgetown dub days dissolved, Cojak got in contact with Bill Patton, a seattle guitarist who recorded with many Seattle artist including Fleet Foxes and Jesse Sykes, proposed creating another Reggae band which Bill delightfully agreed to. Along with other Seattle musicians via a little ad in the Seattle Stranger they started the Wet City Rockers. The band started rehearsing in a Seattle Northgate basement and had their first self titled release in 2005. A beautiful and raw Reggae album that caught on pretty well in the early days of CDbaby before the company was sold.

Then in 2014 they released another 9 song album "On My Way". A song that talked about the vocalist time spent living in Capitol Hill Seattle riding his skateboard down to the local watering hole. The song was also made into a music video, also filmed in Capitol Hill at a local pizza parlor, "Big Mario's" and now closed restaurant "Poe Dogs". Then in 2016 they released yet another 9 song album tiled, "Confections" a collection of classic "roots riddim" jams with slightly heavier rock elements and toasting story lines. Wet City Rockers seem to understand the difficulties and simplicities in their merging of music elements that ultimately make up that classic Reggae sound and still manage to inject their own northwest twist.

Wet City Rockers have a solid six group members band. Shawn-Drummer all around instrumental master. Brandon-Trombone player. Tim-Keyboard-Trumpet-melodica-back vocals. Jarrett-Bass-back vocals. Bill-Guitar-composer. Micah- vocalist-writer-guitar. The band understand that Reggae music has some key elements that can't be changed in order to be defined as a Reggae band. They walk a fine line between Roots Rock Reggae, Rock n Roll and R&B and a dab of funk. Vocal rhythmic phrasing, one drop hits, live horns, solid heavy bass and hooky guitar riffs seem to suit them well.
