Born in Coral Springs, Florida in 1992, Derek L. (Wrek Less) has always had a passion for music. Since a young age he was always reciting lyrics and loved being a part of music. In addition, both of Wrek Less's parents from the infamous South Bronx, NY therefore solidified a love for soul, jazz, blues and hip-hop. Road trips up and down the east coast inspired this young artist to expand his horizons. This led to the beginning of his songwriting at the age of 13 which then showed him the light in hip hop. A tied tongue put another obstacle in the way of his flow and having surgery unleashed Wrek Less truly helping him project his voice and enunciate words better. With musical influences ranging from Nas to Bob Marley this is his destiny to bring to the Hip-Hop culture an inspirational and deep innovative style of music. The motto is "Wrek Less Create More".

Wrek Less was born in Coral Springs, FL and raised in Oldsmar, FL. He developed an East Coast influence traveling there many times being that both of his parents were raised in Bronx, NY.
Wrek Less is a multi-talented artist grounded in recording arts/song-writing for Hip-Hip/Trip-Hop/Soul/Jazz, but never bounded by any genre. Choosing to separate himself with uniqueness clearly displayed through his musical influences. Those of which ranges from Pink Floyd to Tupac, but he truthfully appreciates any heartfelt music.
His goal as
an artist is to express genuine from his life experiences. He utilizes melodic vibes with hard lyrics coming
from the heart and soul Wrek Less vividly projects through any multi-media platform.
Becoming an example of success without jeopardizing truth is what Wrek Less will do. The motto is “Wrek Less Create More”.
