"Grenadian/American Artiste continues to break ground in the pop music industry"

She has had smashing reaction to her song “Gimme that love” collaborated with Jamaican Dancehall Artiste Beenie Man, approximately one year ago and now Zhavea is hoping to have even better reaction to her new single “Victim.”

Zhavea is back in Grenada
Zhavea is back in Grenada
The Grenadian/American Pop/Dancehall artiste is in Grenada for the second time in her lifetime; the first time being August 2015 as she sought to get in touch with her roots as her mother is Grenadian and to experience Spicemas for the first time.

In an exclusive interview with THE NEW TODAY newspaper last week, Zhavea said since coming to Grenada last year, she went back home to Los Angeles (LA) and started working on a new CD which is still a work in progress.

However, she said that her new single “Victim”, which was released earlier in the month, has been doing really well in the Caribbean and the US.

“It’s playing over in the US and different countries and they started to play it here in Grenada as well. The CD is not done yet but I’m looking to add some features on some of the songs so it’s in the works,” she added.

Zhavea believes that her new single is one that every woman can relate to.
The song shows the artiste embracing her West Indian culture as it has a modern reggae vibe to it.

It tells of a woman who found out that her man had done her wrong, he pleads his love to her but she shows no interest.

While in Grenada, Zhavea will be engaging in some promotional activities as she feels there is still a lot of work to be done as it relates to Grenadians getting familiar with her.

She told this newspaper that being Grenadian she is hoping to do some shows here.

“Definitely since I’m out there I’m handing out my new single and promoting that and I do wanna make a video out here. I don’t know if it’s for this song but I do wanna make a video, definitely to show Grenada and how beautiful it is you know …. just definitely more promotion out here”, she said.

“…Definitely more shows… I’m looking to do more shows. I really wanna do some shows out here. I really wanna figure it out and maybe do some performances out here and of course in the States and other countries as well and do more music. Even though I have a new CD coming out, I definitely keep working and writing and creating new music and I am now interested a little bit in acting and modeling as well,” she added.

Zhavea has had collaborations with Beenie Man, Mr. Vegas and Sean Paul and is seeking to have some collaboration with Grenadian artistes.

“I am always open to do some more Caribbean-like collaboration especially like Tallpree and Sean Paul. Me and Sean Paul actually had a song, we never released it but I’m looking to get back in touch with Sean Paul and do another song with him. “

“…There are quite a few people I like to work with. Tallpree… he is Grenadian and I really would like to collaborate with a Grenadian artiste.

This newspaper also interviewed the artiste’s mother, Jhadel Perry last year who said it is the intention of Zhavea to be a role model to young girls with her sexy but clean music and this is still the objective as she strives toward breaking ground in the music industry. - THE NEW TODAY NEWS PAPER

The King of the Dancehall has done it again, this time with international recording artiste Zhavea, who is based in California.

The gem of a single is Gimme That Love and showcases the dancehall ‘Doctor’ at his best, complemented by the beautiful and powerful vocals of a West Indian princess whose style can be described as a fusion of pop and dancehall.

Zhavea feat. Beenie Man – Gimmie That Love

The track, produced by Nikki B, son of the legendary Mikey Bennett of Grafton recording, is making the rounds internationally with the help of a strong marketing team which includes Willi Daniels, Tyehimba Kafele of YMYTV and management by Jedil Perry of JP Management and J’ouvert Records.

The single is the first release from Zhavea’s EP, which is set to be released in October 2014. It also features Mr Vegas and hip hop star Thurz.

Zhavea said she is ready to not only become the next Caribbean pop star but be a positive role model to the youths today.

Lyric Video: Zhavea – Gimme That Love ft. Beenie Man

A large percentage of today’s youths look to entertainers as role models. They follow the latest and popular trends especially in music for fashion, lingo, even the way they treat others.

“It can even contribute to drugs and alcohol abuse. The influence in music is so strong that it can sometimes overpower the values parents teach their kids at home. So, as entertainers, we must be responsible for the things we do and say in our music and videos,” Zhavea stated.

Zhavea is putting the finishing touches to her EP. - DANCEHALL VIBE

"BEENIE MAN AND ZHAVEA TO SHOOT VIDEO ON THURSDAY"

The single features none other than the "The King of the Dancehall", Beenie Man, and has been creating waves both internationally as well as locally. Some critics have commented that this track is "one of Beenie Man’s best crossover collaborative efforts in years."

Both camps are elated regarding the attention "Gimme That Love" has been receiving, and this being the case, all stops are being pulled out in order to guarantee the single become an international success. "The video will be shot in Portland on Thursday. Beenie is excited about the song, he performed it with her during a show in California over the Summer," Beenie Man's manager, Rohan 'Blue' Smith told one876entertainment.com - ONE 876 ENTERTAINMENT MAGAZINE

Apart from Soca, Grenada may just have an international music ambassador in Pop/Dancehall in 23-year old Zhavier, an American with very strong roots in Grenada.

Pop/Dancehall Artiste Zhavier
Pop/Dancehall Artiste Zhavier
The Pop/Dancehall artiste visited the Spice Isle for the Carnival season as she felt it was time she knew where she came from and also to get a firsthand experience of Spicemas.

“I am here for promo reasons and also I just had to come here, my mother is from here and I had to just see where mom from. Also, I had to come during Carnival so I can experience that because I’ve only experienced Carnival in New York and I know it’s way better here and I am excited to be here and experience that for the first time,” she said.

The young talent, whose mother is a Grenadian, has been in the music business for over three years and is hoping to gain much success and to represent Grenada and, by extension, the Caribbean as best as she can.

One of her biggest songs, “Gimme that love” was collaborated with Dancehall artiste, Jamaican Beenie Man who was also in Grenada recently for one of the Spicemas shows.

Zhavier spoke with The New Today Newspaper about her journey as an upcoming artiste, “I have been doing it for about four years and I first started out as doing R&B/Pop music and I decided back in 2013 that I wanted to kind of incorporate Dancehall music because I am West Indian and I wanted more of a different unique sound so I decided to put those influences into my music”, she said.

“…Last summer I did a collaboration with Beenie Man, I recorded it in Los Angeles where I live and we wanted to get an artiste on it and we were kinda thinking who should we put on it and then we thought Beenie Man and so I went out to Jamaica for the first time last summer. We met up with Beenie Man and he got on the song, we did the video and now it’s you know number one,” she added.

According to Zhavier, the song has been number 1 in Jamaica and on Tempo for a number of weeks during the summer.

Her new single called “Johnny” was released a few weeks ago and she explains the details of the songs: “As you know sometimes when you go out on a date, there is a kind of a guy who kind of cheap and doesn’t want to pay for your bill. He is the one that you’re wanting, he is everything you wanted but at the same time it’s a cute guy and you don’t know what to do because you still love him…”.

She said the chorus is saying even though the guy is broke “(I) still want him and even though he can’t give me everything I want, I still love him”.

Zhavier stated that she has been receiving heavy support from the Caribbean and it is a driving force as she envisions greater success for herself.

“I just want to make it big and just be everywhere from the West Indies to America, the UK, just wanted to spread and keep my music worldwide,” she said.

Jhadel Perry, mother and also Manager to Zhavier, spoke to The New Today newspaper saying that she never expected Zhavier to go this far but attributes it all to her hard work.

“It’s a little breathtaking because she went from performing in small venues but she went from those to doing major concerts. It is a steady progress and then having the number one song with Beenie Man in Jamaica for 29 or 30 weeks and in the Caribbean it has been number one for four weeks.

“It’s just overwhelming you know, she is getting a lot of love all over the Caribbean, a lot of fans, so hopefully she can set her marks in Grenada.
Perry said she sees really big things for her daughter as she puts her everything into what she does.

“She is a full on performer…when she performs it’s more like a show with dancers and the costumes so we see in the future that if things continue progressing the way it is, we’re seeing and people are saying she is going to be the next big thing coming out of the Caribbean and it will be really great to have an artiste you know that can get to that caliber coming out of Grenada because we don’t have that.

“…The thing about Zhavier is that her music is clean, she has a lot of little kids that are fans and can listen to her music without their parents going, “oh my God”. She has sexy music but it’s not vulgar which you know a lot of the music nowadays seems to be gravitating towards being vulgar.

“…We want to keep her on that track where she can be a role model to little kids, teenagers, people to show them you can still make good music, you can still succeed. So we’re hoping that with this steady progress that she can really pave the way in the industry and be a name that people in Grenada can say, “hey, she is one of us,”. - THE NEW GRENADA NEWS PAPER

"American Pop Artiste Hosts Charity Events In Grenada"

Grenadian/American pop artiste Zhavea Perry is presently in Grenada promoting her new pop/reggae single album ‘Victim’.

In an interview with the Grenada Informer Newspaper Thursday last, Zhavea said that she got involved in singing at a young age. She added that music has always been a career she aspired and started pursuing her passion for music right after graduating from high school.

Her Professional music career started five years ago by performing only pop R&B music, and in 2003, incorporated pop dancehall and reggae to her music, because of her love for dancehall music growing up.

She revealed to the Grenada Informer that in 2015 she had three #1 singles called ‘Turn up’, ‘shut it down’ & ‘give me that love’ featuring popular dancehall artist ‘Bennie Man’ as well as a single called ‘spotlight’ featuring Mr. Vegas.

The pop artiste added that her collaboration with some of Jamaica’s top Reggae and Dancehall artistes has been a great experience and made special mention of Bennie man, with whom she teamed up to do a song and a video production last year.

She is currently in college studying business, but because of her many travels she takes her classes on line noting that it is important to continue to advance her education as nothing is promised in this world.

She disclosed that she faces many challenges in the music industry, one of which is the long hours without sleep and sometimes performing while sick. She however added that she never lets her challenges hinder her goals.

Zahvea is striving to take her music to the top and to excel by producing more albums, videos, and giving great performances while touring the world.

"Zhavea's Single 'Victim' Is Set To Arrive On July 29, 2016 Read more at: https://tr.im/228Oy"

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) It has been one year since Zhavea's song "Gimmie that love" a calibration with the king of dancehall, Beenie man rose to NO.1 on Caribbean charts. The Grenadian/ American singer is about to shake things up again with a new single, called "Victim." The song shows her, once again embracing her west Indian culture, with a cool modern reggae pop vibe. Victim tells of a woman who found out that her man had done her wrong. He pleads his love to her, but she is not interested. Not anymore. "This is a song that a lot of women can relate to," said Zhavea, whose last single "Johnny" also spoke of a bad relationship. However, unlike Johnny, Victim reveals a much stronger side to Zhavea. She shows some straight up girl power, proving she is not about to put up with being disrespected. Confident and cool, she walks out, leaving him broken and hurt. "And now I got another victim/ who've been shot by my love/ Yes I've got another victim/ Who can't seem to run/ Now I've got another victim/ broken hearts and blood," she sings on the chorus. Of course the song is not speaking of her actually shooting her lover. He believes she loves him too much to leave, she however, shoots down his ego, letting him know she is the only one who will be dealing out some pain. She tells him to "Call 911," as she walks out on him. "We are all looking for love, however, when the line into disrespect is crossed there is nothing left to say but "Ram-pa-pa-pam pow!" as you walk out on him for good. said Zhavea. Victim was written by Dwight Christopher Allen and Zhavea, produced by Jamaican producer Matthew Dominic Keaveny aka Keely Keyz who was also one of the producers on her entire Warrior Album, which includes her smash hit "Gimmie that love". Keely Keyz has also worked with top acts like Sean Paul, Mavado, Migos, Verse Simmonds, and Popcaan, producing Popcaan's hit single "Nasty Girl". Beenie Man, Mr. Vegas and LA rapper Thurz has been Zhavea's past collaborators. She however, is keeping her standards higher hoping to one day have the opportunity to collaborate with Drake as well as fellow West Indian artist Rihanna. Victim is set for a July 29th release. The single will be available on Tidal, Spotify, iTunes to name few, as well as Caribbean, European and US radio stations. Read more at: https://tr.im/228Oy - TOP 40 CHARTS
