The Sleepovers are Toronto born and bred, and aren’t afraid to shake things up. From their views on touring, to the way they chose to record their music, I have to say I appreciate and respect the time and effort put into the music they created for me to enjoy. After talking with lead vocalist and song-writer Jeremy MacFarlane I even learned quite a bit about what goes into recording. The beauty of rock music is how it comes off so seamless and feels effortless when in reality it’s quite the opposite. It’s tedious, meticulous even but worth every minute. Just take a listen to The Sleepovers and you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.
The Sleepovers EP is 4 songs filled with some fantastic drum fills and rolls, catchy guitar licks and thumping bass lines. The EP is actually just a part of what later will be a full album, hopefully to be released by the end of the year. As I mentioned earlier, I had the chance to ask MacFarlane a few questions about their music, the process of recording and their stance on touring and the use of crowd-sourcing campaigns. What follows is the interview, take a moment to read and see how The Sleepovers are Rocking the Summer! - Wordkrapht
The Sleepovers are a three piece outfit from Toronto. Mixing the rhythm, melody and pace of The Police with the frenetic energy of The Who, they write infectious and upbeat tunes that lend themselves beautifully to any production that needs an extra injection of oomph. - Hookline
You may recall that last month, we were digging the loveliness of The Sleepovers’ “Goodbye,” and now here’s a bit more from them.
Something about the lyrics hooked me (very unusual, as it’s usually the tune that attracts)…and to take it further, there’s a guitar/drum burst in here that sounds unmistakably like the freakin’ Who, I kid you not, I mean, as if Keith Moon has come back from the dead to drum on one more song. And all of this, within the context of a power pop song, is pretty damn cool. - Don't Need No Melody
We’ve loved Sleepovers long time (see see!), and this lead single from their upcoming Blue EP is more of that howl-y, throwback anthemic pop we love. - Don't Need No Melody

Bio
We wrote some songs. We threw a party. We played those songs at the party. People liked the songs. We recorded those songs. We started a band called The Sleepovers. Now we are working on a bunch of new songs and anxious to bang them out in front of an audience.
We began wanting to mix the rhythm, melody and pace of The Police with the frenetic energy of The Who. We didn't really end up sounding like either of those bands.
Jeremy writes, sings, plays guitar and keyboard. Scott drums. Chris plays bass.
