Summary

The deadline is coming soon to submit to Champaign Park District's Taste of Champaign - Urbana, a 3 day festival held in Champaign, IL. It is looking for solo artists and bands to perform live at one of the concert dates during the summer of 2011. There are 14 available performance slots on the mainstage, and 14 slots on the children's stage. Compensation for artists is negotiable, as well as travel and accommodation expenses. Artists can also sell their merchandise at the festival. Performers go on the event map, which is included in the local paper which reaches 50,000 plus subscribers.  There are also separate marketing and promotions for this event which sometimes includes performers.



The festival draws a crowd of approximately 50,000 people over the entire weekend. Artists will be booked as applications are received, but all submitting artists will be notified by April 7th, 2011.



Past performers of the Champaign Park District Taste of Champaign - Urbana include Delta Kings, Chicago Mambo All Stars, Mary Clark, The Kevin Lucas Orrchestra, Elsinore, Hurricane Gumbo, Bruiser and the Virtues, Brat Pack, Tricia Scully & Carl Hauck.


The Champaign Park District's arts programs include numerous cultural events that serve an average of 48,000 community members per year. Concert offerings include the Bach's Lunch Concert Series, Summer Concerts, and Gospel/Fest. The Division also provides juried exhibition opportunities to local artists through the Springer Cultural Center Art Exhibition Series and the Town and Country Amateur Art Show.
