Summary

The deadline is coming soon to submit to the Champaign Park District's Downtown Festival of the Arts, a 1 day festival held in Champaign, IL. It is looking for solo artists and bands to perform live at the festival. There are about 6 performance spots available. Compensation for artists is negotiable. Selected artists will receive promotion for their performance at the Downtown Festival of the Arts. This includes the performers' name appearing on the event map which, is distributed around the community and handed out at the event. Compensation for artists is negotiable. Selected artists will receive promotion for their performance at the Downtown Festival of the Arts. This includes the performers' name appearing on the event map which, is distributed around the community and handed out at the event.




The festival draws a crowd of approximately 7,000 people through the entire day. Artists will be booked as applications are received, but all submitting artists will be notified by April 7th, 2011.



Past performers of the Champaign Park District's Downtown Festival of the Arts include Brainchild, Mary Harris, South Fork, Doko Benjo, Steely Pan, and Prairie Dogs.



The Champaign Park District's arts programs include numerous cultural events that serve an average of 48,000 community members per year. Concert offerings include the Bach's Lunch Concert Series, Summer Concerts, and Gospel/Fest. The Division also provides juried exhibition opportunities to local artists through the Springer Cultural Center Art Exhibition Series, Town and Country Amateur Art Show, and the Taste of Champaign-Urbana Arts and Crafts Festival which draws on an average 50,000 participants on it's own.
